      Let's be fair though. What Chris said is true. Nepotism isn't just on the players. Management and the League also has been affected by nepotism. You can see it within the Lakers management itself, it being a family corporation.
      However in the case of Bronny, it's bad because he doesn't have the stats, the experience and has a medical history that would proclude any other regular player with those same conditions from being considered.

    It’s about demanding the team draft the kid. Lebron is not slick, he refuses to sign his extension, so the team had to draft the son. As the media plays along “Lebron is a free agent” sure Jan! 😂😂And it’s embarrassing that Lebron or his son have no dignity. A free path to the nba? AND THE FACT "Bronny" arrogantly only worked out w/2 teams also wreaks of entitlement. LBJ and Rich Paul have no shame for different reasons. LBJ truly believes his "king" bullsh*t and Rich Paul is just the greediest shameless mofo grabbing everything $$$ in sight with LITTLE TO NO INTEGRITY. F THEM BOTH. Bull****. LeBron is an all-time great. Nothing you random fools say can change that. His son is a different matter. But don't try to rewrite history. Four rings and ten Finals appearances. Can't change that. If the Lakers were a better run franchise, they wouldn't have folded under pressure from Bron and Rich Paul. They know that without Bron, they're rebuilding for four or five years. Like Kobe's last couple of years and after. So they caved. What happens now will tell the tale. Anthony Davis is still there, and Bronny may, may be a better player than anyone thinks. But don't lie on LeBron history. Just makes you sound stupid, like Whitlock or Skip Bayless. Poseurs..

      @kiroolioneaver8532 2 дня назад +2

      Yeah there's a total difference to nepotism in management roles and on the field of play. Sometimes, arguments can be made that a person's intangible requirements (have known other GMs/owners since they were kids because their parent had a similar job or a cultural knowledge) can be used to prove competency (or eventual competency) over "qualifications" per se (i.e. schooling vs. education). The difference with the field of play is there is an objective standard of performance; you can either dribble, shoot, steal, block or you can't. And if you can't, your team will lose. It's zero-sum. If the manager of the Red Sox son bats .021 he cannot justify putting him in the lineup or even the 26-man roster based on "he knows what it takes to be a pro because his daddy was a player and is now the manager." Sports is the closest thing we have to a pure meritocracy.

    It's just weird how this isn't blatant tampering. Like lets say LeBron said he wanted to play with Wemby (before he was drafted) and then immediately afterwards, Wemby signs with Klutch Sports and then Rich Paul calls Gregg Popovich and says if you draft Wemby, he wont sign with the Spurs. This completely undermines the integrity of the draft. Draft position becomes pointless. It's not a matter of whether it's right or wrong, it's a matter of if it's wise or not wise,and it's not wise because in certain fields of life you can smooth over nepotism because the work required is task oriented or based off of routine,where as the NBA is by far performance based as well as scrutinized to the point of computerized analytics camera viewed game by game,we can say he's not setting him up for failure,but without the proper preparation he's setting him up for embarrassment and unnecessary stress,but to each its own,thats his son, he'll figure it out.

    As a Blk man, what saddens me is how many Blk men are in support of Bronny James being drafted due to Lebron's undeniable pressuring the league to do so. In one hand I get it, Blk men are rarely in a position to use their power and wealth to place their children in positions of success. On the other hand, the NBA is not a company that Lebron has built. The NBA has been around for 80 years, it has existed for 40 years before Lebron was born. Through most of NBA history, the best basketball players in the world were the only ones who have had an opportunity to play the game at it's highest level. This standard is what allowed Lebron James, the product of a single mother with no NBA father to be the #1 draft pick out of a high school to become the NBA's all time leading scorer and it's 2nd billionaire player (the 1st to do so while playing). This all happened because Lebron had to talent to do so, Bronny does not and everyone know it. There are an extremely limited number of slots in the NBA and Bronny is taking a slot that belongs to another player. This is not like some corporate CEO or upper manager in a corporation hiring their kids and trying to teach the business. In professional sports you either have the talent or you don't. Lebron had 19/20 years to teach Bronny the game of basketball, he isn't an NBA talent....the 55th pick should have went to another player who did.

    Rob Parker needs to sit down somewhere. He Stephen A Smith, Skip Bayless and the rest of the Jordan Pom Pom waving fanboys need to sit down somewhere. I am an old head and I have no problem with Bronny James getting drafted. If he was anyone else’s son other than LeBron, none of this hyperbolic nonsense would be uttered. The shade that he received reeks nothing but envy and for grown behind men to be envious and mean spirited towards a young man who is willing to do whatever it takes to make the league is pitiful.

    I've been a Lakers fan for 45 years and this move ended my support of this organization. RJ Davis from UNC is just one example of a player that's better skill wise than Bronny but probably will never play in the NBA ,many individuals work hard on their game to hear their names called but won't realize that dream and that's all right because it's the journey that's important. Bronny took a position from someone

    Of course, Lebron had them draft a heart patient that averages 4 points a game, when many more worthy players were still on the board.

    what’s not cool is the whole Klutch telling teams to not draft him or telling them they will not sign a 2 way deal or play in the g league and will only sign a guaranteed contract. That’s the bush league part… they are doing bronny no favor by putting a target on his back and creating resentment towards him. Let him earn his keep, the players will respect him.
