Yep. Shannon just a few weeks ago paid homage to SAS for rescuing him from Skip Bayless at Fox Sports. SAS was elated over Shannon saying that about him. Shannon Sharpe presently appears on the First Take Show on Mondays and Tuesdays only. Mad Dog Caruso appears on Wednesday. SAS makes $12 million per year presently.

I don't know what his problem is. He's accomplished his daily goals, he's made his bosses money and they are trying to give him "some". Now he is mad that Pat McAfee said "I only care about how much money I am getting and they better pay me or I wil stay where I'm at"., so they paid him $30 million and now Stephen A. Is mad. That is all on him. McAfee don't give a fcuk about ESPN's bosses and told them to break bread, let me cuss and let me do what I wanna do. He also goes at them bosses publically and they don't tell him shit. Stephen A. and Shannon are way to "humble" and plyable for me. That is why they get treated like a bunch of lil beyotchs.

By throwing big bank at McAfee ESPN created an environment similar to QB salaries in the NFL. Every time contract negotiations come up everybody's looking to set the market so go for it Stephen A. The only question is if he's pricing himself out of the market. I'm sure he's got some logical basis for asking for that amount. I think he's gonna get more than 18 but less than 25.

They gave Shannon a new generous contract, knowing that SAS would demand greater numbers than McAfee. The network is playing chess with SAS by giving Shannon a new deal which is significantly lower than the $90mill that ESPN offered SAS. ESPN now has leverage over SAS so if he decides to leave, Shannon gets promoted immediately while ESPN saves millions from not having to pay SAS AND STILL sustain big numbers with First Take with Shannon as host due to social media following and his popularity!

It's a trip how these journalists think that they should get paid far more than these active professional athletes. No wander why these athletes that have no communication skills nor broadcasting skills go into this profession after retiring. It's the reason why podcasting is booming as well for active athletes and retired athletes.

I’ve been watching these shows for a year or so waiting for Charles to get a real, hard opinion on stuff. His videos are more of reporting the news and giving generic feedback….”ESPN is tight about there money. They did this for Skip.”….cool. So I’ll say it, Stephen A Shit is not worth $25M! He should have seen the writing on the wall when they hired Shay. Stephen, you advocated to have your replacement hired. Like most of the sports analysts before him, he need to lean into his podcast and make WAYYYYY more than ESPN will pay him.
