Hello, I tried doing the same size sample as you just to try out the pattern, and get the hang of it before doing the shrug. But on row four, even though I have the same number of starting chains, I always have a problem , where I have 5 stitches left at the end. I don't know what I am doing wrong
Do you have 5 instead of 3? This is the tricky row. Don’t give up! Rep from * until last 3 sts. ch5, 4-tr cl (working first 3 tr sts in same st as last cl): 3tr in indicated st, leaving last loop of each tr st on hook, sk2 sts, 1tr in next st, leaving last loop of each tr st on hook, sk2, 1tr in last st, completing cl with yo & pull through all 5 loops.
Absolutely love this pattern. I wish I could find the ZZTwist Yarn. I love how it looks. I'm currently looking for a comparable yarn to make this gorgeous shrug.

Just one query did you block your shrug before putting on the edging. I just find my pattern is slightly off even though the stitch count is correct

Use something that’s light, soft and drapes nicely. I like their Coboo, or similar yarn

I have chunky yarn which needs size 8mm hook. How many stitches should I use?
You should be able to gauge the size with your chains however with a larger hook, you may need to make a swatch

Nice. One of the few shrugs that don't make the butt area look like a "loaded' diaper.
Lol it’s the yarn. It’s drapery. If you use stiffer yarn you’ll probably get that diaper look 😆
