    I am starting to learn garment crochet. Something other than that square or rectangle. Thank you for showing me the ‘how’.

    Is that first square you made to demonstrate the stitch the gauge swatch? Or do I have to do I need to do more/less rows for the gauge?

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  Месяц назад

      The first square was just an example of the stitch. For a gauge swatch you'll want to work at least 8 rows to be able to measure the gauge accurately.

      @@hanjancrochet3553so I do 8 rows while increasing each row, then measure the first 5 rows to see if that measures 4 inches across? It says 5 rows should make a 4 inch square. I’m sorry if this is a really stupid question, I haven’t done a corner to corner project before. I thought the 5 rows you made while demonstrating the stitch was the gauge swatch 😅

    Hi, How much yarn is required for the cardigan? how many hours it took for making it? Can you please mention the size required for small size women

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  24 дня назад

      For the smallest size (which is the size I think you want), you will need approximately 1125 metres of yarn. You can find all of the pattern details in the blog post: www.hanjancrochet.com/cocoon-cardigan-crochet-pattern/

    Help, please! Love the pattern, super easy till I finished my last row at 53. Turned, watched your video 8 times...lol I am still not sure what to do! Instead of chain 6 at a new row, I'm ss in the first 3 chains instead. Is this done at the beginning of every row or just that first decrease row? Also, the last stitch of first decrease row is that just a ss or continue chain 3 ,dc, ch1, dc, then turn? Im standing by until I hear from someone what to do. Thank you so much from North Florida

      So this is where you start decreasing the square (previously you have been increasing on every row), so now you are decreasing on every row. This is the decrease row instructions, which you do on every row until you complete the square: ss into next 3 sts, ss into next ch3-sp on previous block made, *ch3, dc, ch1, dc into same ch3-sp of previous row, ss into next ch-3 sp across; rep from * across, turn

    The pattern says the gauge swatch is 5 rows should measure 4” square. Does that mean 5 increase rows or am I supposed to make a square and it should measure 4”? I’m learning c2c because I really want to make this cardigan!

      If you work 5 increase rows then then you can just measure the two longer sides to see if they meet the gauge 😊

    What exactly is meant by "in that last section of it, there" on the third block? In the same chain three space we just double crocheted into, or somewhere else? This is very unclear.

      I'm not exactly sure which part of the pattern you're referring to - the video goes in conjunction with the written pattern which you can find here: www.hanjancrochet.com/cocoon-cardigan-crochet-pattern/

    Such a beautiful pattern, but corner-to-corner is over my skill set right now.

    How many inches did you leave opened for your armhole.

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  6 месяцев назад

      I left about 15 inches for a nice relaxed feel.

    Love this pattern, but would appreciate a slower and better explanation/visual of where the 3rd double crochet goes into, as well as where the slip stitch is entered.
    Thank you.

      Thank you! You can always reduce the speed of the video to watch it, which I find helps in lots of cases!
