My S&W Shield 9 Plus smokes the Hellcat, Sig P365 and the rest everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.
The S&W is a smoother shooter.
The inherited M&P grip is the best in class (no talon grips needed with the Shield)
It comes with a superb trigger, best in class for sure.
You can get it in all configurations, manual safety or not. 3.1 or 4 inch barrels.
No snag iron sights, night trijicon sights, sweet fiber optic sights or RMSC footprint red dots.
And the mag release on the new Shield Plus is nothing short of brilliant.
At the range it’s easy to observe how much better balance the S&W is under recoil, just soo soft, a true wonder of engineering.
And lastly the slides are just like glass and have impeccable finishes.
And a handful of months after its release the new Shield is for sale for 442 online. A true bargain

I had one in my hand today and it looked and felt good. I was also able to manipulate the slide stop slide release easily where other videos struggle or can’t do it. I think the color looked great in person but slightly weird on camera. It was very matt in person. Great feeling trigger too. The price was $529.99.

You'd think that for a five hundred dollar gun they'd give you something better than a cardboard box with it.
Okay so I’m not crazy here? HK, Walther, CZ all came with decent quality plastic cases…bought this as my first American brand and I get a cardboard box and the gun just shoved in a bag…smith and Wesson you need to step up your game.

Well I guess with Glock you get a nice plastic carry box but cheap ass plastic sights! You lose either way!!

Great video review, I have the very first model of the shield and Ive loved it ever since. Will probably have it forever, anyway yes they come highly recommended.
Owned the Shield and Shield 2.0 before going to the Walther PPS M2. This Shield Plus looks nice but I really wish they would’ve taken that magazine warning off the right side
I am also not a fan of those warning labels on guns. After seeing the Beretta 92 and that huge warning label on it, I immediately gravitated to an M9.
Be aware of sticky triggers on the regular shield+. The safety in the center of the trigger, if not pressed evenly will jam the trigger.
My first firearm & I pleased with its performance, looking to add the mp AR 556
S&W is offering a $100 rebate on their AR currently.

It’s always nice to meet first time buyers. While it isn’t the greatest time to get into guns in regards to availability/pricing, any time is better than not at all!

I have a shield so I'm looking to upgrade to the plus. I may go with the performance center that's pre milled for a red dot.
I’ve seen so many people trying to trade single stack M&Ps that they just bought to try and get this one.

Where can you buy the shield plus in black? I can only find it in the grey. I checked the s&w website as well as others and the grey is the only one available as far as i know
I can notice the color difference. It bothers me a bit. Need to see it in person to decide if I would want to go with fde and/or swap slide colors.
Color comment: Looks like a dark grey in the vid. Not green, not black & almost a rubberized look. Mine is just black. I like your color a bit better than black. Did you order it that way or just get lucky on that day ? Might be a bit less conspicuous in case of a "peek-a-boo" error in concealing. The bull shark grey is one I'm leaning to lately. Gud vid....😊
The lower looks gray to me but I'm a little bit color blind ever since I was a kid I'm 32 now looks good
The matte finish of the frame does not appeal to me aesthetically. It does not appear as black as I would prefer. However, I do appreciate the overall design of the pistol.
When they come out with this in 40 I’m getting 1 love my shield

That color is very interesting compared to previous shields. What’s so different with the plus series versus the original shield?
Well this is the plus. There are kinder differences but the major one is the mag capacity.

I think S&W dropped the ball here. Basic irons and no optics cut. These options are not only available from the competition they're standard on some. The trigger is nice and the compatibility with previous generation holsters is too, but I think S&W offers too little value compared to the competition. At least extra mags aren't $50 each, looking at you Sig.
How many backstraps does it come with?
None. This pistol does not have interchangeable back straps.

Brand new out of the box my trigger safety would get stuck on the frame when trying to squeeze the trigger..piece of garbage
That shield is very cheap in appearance and packaging for $500. That coating on the frame will look like crap in no time holstering and upholstering it.
