    • @Andreas-gh6is
      @Andreas-gh6is 15 дней назад +4

      This was mainly meant to curb certain violent crime that occurs out of circumstance. Carrying a knife significantly increases the chance of using a knife in a random confrontation. Not carrying a knife, especially in situations with more potential for random confrontations, significantly reduces such incidents. Furthermore, even amok runs like in Solingen can sometimes be averted or mitigated by clear weapon bans. These make it a lot easier for the security personnel to detain or remove persons that come loaded for bear. Banning knives is not a panacea, it's just not that useless either.

      b) I don't want to be negative, but I think the first thing a terrorist organisation would have done, is plant their fighters in Europe as soon as the opportunity has given itself, which has been ~ 10 years ago. In 10 years entire structures can be developed, that do not rely on random asylum seekers being rowed in on plastic boats - these are (by now at least) basically only civilians. My mom is a German citizen and my dad is a citizen of a country that requires a visa to enter Germany. The local embassy has put up a sign at the entrance saying “The fact that you’re a German citizen does not guarantee that your spouse will get a visa”. They’ve been married for 36 years and my dad has never been able to become German because they’d need to live 6 years in Germany to do so, and it has never been in their life plans to move there due to my dads occupation.
    So, the spouses of actual German citizens are treated like this - yet everyone else can freely get into Germany by claiming asylum and still staying and disappearing from authorities even if rejected.
    Makes total sense.

    • @dmarl1042

      Tell me about it. Been to Germany many times as tourist and lived there as a student. Applied for jobseeker visa for educated workforce, with proof of ability to cover living cost (Sperrkonto), German B2 Certificate (not required) and House Ownership in my home country (not required) - it is rejected on unsuitable ground. Thus my effort to bring the case to Verwaltungsgericht.
      But I can understand the embassy's perspective on the spouse - some people did get married to gain entry to Germany 😅. I don't think that's the case with your parents though.

      I'm a minority in my country and have been subjected to racial, religious and sexist slurs. But I never use that as a reason / excuse to be illegal or to seek asylum. I ensure I won't be a (financial) burden to my destination country and am ready to integrate by learning the language and the culture. I had a German boyfriend for 5+ years and never use him as a guarantor in my applications for schengen and nationales visum. And this is the first time my visa application being rejected - I had Australia and US visa as well.
      I hate to rant publicly, but feel like it's necessary to make people - or rather the policy makers - understand: There are (unintended) effects of inappropriately opening the Grenze, not only on their citizens but also to qualified workers with work ethics like me.

      @Andreas-gh6is 15 дней назад

      Actually, no. That's the whole essence of being a free and democratic country. There are strict limits of what a democratic state is allowed to do when "defending" itself. The first thing that autocrats do when subverting such a state is to claim the state needs to defend itself from whomever or whatever. Also, whoever says "right to defend itself" usually means that everything is allowed if they claim, for whatever reason, this to be necessary. Unfortunately, many Germans have been educated very poorly, so this fallacy isn't a rare sentiment.

    How are they going to enforce the knife ban in public spaces? This sounds impractical, which makes me think it is just smoke and mirrors.
    Also, if they are telling people that they are going to be deported, then why do they not deport them after the decision has been made? I don't share that position on migration, but this isn't about what I think is (morally) right. It is about what is practical. If someone has been told they cannot stay in a country, then the authorities must remove them from the country immediately. If the person tries to hide, they must be tracked down and arrested.
    I was an international student in Australia years ago, and due to severe illness, I wasn't fulfilling the requirements of my student visa to attend 80% of my classes. My university reported me to immigration because they were obliged to by law. I received a notification letter that I had one month to improve my attendance or my visa would be canceled and I would be deported within 48 hours. I would have been physically tracked down, accompanied to the airport by the authorities, and put on an airplane. Moreover, my passport would have been flagged so that I could not enter Australia again for a certain period of time. If I tried to run away and hide in the outback, the Australian authorities would have still tracked me down and deported me.
    Germany's bureaucracy is utterly absurd. What they perceive as "organization" is actually just an idiotic system of red tape that facilitates incompetence. It is incomprehensibly asinine.
    p. s. - I was not deported from Australia thanks to an emergency medical document from my doctor explaining why I could not attend class and why I could not fly, and I did improve my attendance and graduate from that university within the following year. But the point is - they would have forced me out very quickly if I did not meet the requirements for extenuating medical circumstances.

      The US is not obligated to accept any of your countrymen. But still, about 10 million undocumented immigrants, mostly from South America, live in the US. They could be deported any second if immigration enforcement gets hold of them. But they don't. The US talks a tougher game than Germany on that topic, but mostly it's bluster and they've given up, just with a higher ratio of deportation and a much higher amount of problems generated by these immigrants. And it helps that South American nations are - in general - much more cooperative about identifying and taking back their citizens, than nations in the middle east, some of which may or may not actually exist or work right now.

If we send a message that breaking this law results in automatic asylum application refusal, no one would dare to apply by any other means.Benefits will be provided to individuals who lawfully apply for asylum. These benefits will cease if the application is rejected. If individuals still require support while living in Germany until they leave, they will be required to visit the closest office to their residence on a weekly basis. Now, because of privacy reasons, it is hard to find exact numbers in fine categories, so the following number is not "murders by illegal immigrants", but instead "murder, manslaughter, attempted murder & attempted manslaughter by illegal immigrants".
      This number is 27.

      Lets take the worst case scenario:
      27 out of 2379 murders in 2017 were by illegal immigrants.
      Which means 2352 murders in 2017 were NOT committed by illegal immigrants.
      Which means almost 99% of all murders and manslaughter is NOT done by illegal immigrants.

    It is logical to re-evaluate our immigration policies to ensure they are effective in promoting successful integration. This may involve stricter vetting and improved support systems to better align incoming individuals with our societal values and stability. I understand why it turned bitter. I've lived and visits Germany many times, but never understand the migration policy. And now it has become personal to me.
    I applied for Visum zur Arbeitsplatzsuche using anerkannten Hochschulabschluss, B2 Beruf Zertifikat and Sperrkonto, but my application was rejected on ground of "nicht gern Deutsch sprechen" for nicht akademische Fachkräfte mit Berufserfahrung despite my visa interviews were in German. Unfortunately the Widerspruch for my country can't be made to the Embassy, but must be made to Verwaltungsgericht in Germany and much costlier than reapply for the visa.

      How can that be? Even the simplest asylum seeker receives working permit and even German citicenship after some time. They arely speak good German. In fact the test is so basic, it is a joke.

      @@juanzulu1318 I asked the Embassy that question after receiving the rejection - pointing out I should be in "educated with work experience" category. Their answer was: We can't help you - Read the letter again.
      I wouldn't apply for the visa if I was not confident I would get it. I assume now I have a bad record and have to answer "yes" to the question "have your visa application been rejected before?"
      Therefore I am now processing my Klage via Court im Berlin without representation and from my home country. My visa application process from setting up appointment to getting the rejection took abt 7-8 months. The Klage may take up to 10 months.
      In the meantime my money would be held as Sperrkonto with 0 Zins and some monatliche Gebühr.
      It seems that it's more difficult to go there as an educated, experienced, legal workforce that does not require financial assistance from the government 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@Wesenskern Thanks for sympathizing with me. But if you're German, you should question the migration policy, including what and how the German Embassies conduct their visa processing.
      There was a case considered as human trafficking or TPO auf Indonesisch. 1000+ Uni students were promised Büroarbeit with 2K€ salary counted as Semesteraustausch, where they had to pay processing fee between 3K€ to 5K€. Most of these students know no German and get mistreatment during their stay in Germany. DW Indonesia covered this.
      What puzzled me until this day is that how these students or their agency (SHB in Stuttgart) could get visa?

    Well done Germany for doing something about knife crime and extremist illegal immigrants. The UK definitely needs to do more. It just got sidetracked by riots and hasnt really addressed the issue (which is illegal immigration, knife crime and disenfranchised men - all separate issues, intersecting often, probably related to global inequality).
