Searching the Shumagin islands - Alaska surf discovery

- In September 2015, 7 of us went to explore the Shumagin islands, in the Aleutian chain, hoping to find some waves to surf. Our mode of transport was the Milo, a 50-year young decommissioned fishing boat owned by Alaska surf "pioneer" Mike McCune.
This is one of the coolest surf videos I’ve ever seen in my life. 50 years old and stoked. Yew!

The Shumagins, the Aleutians and the Pribs....no more beautiful or magical place on the planet. There may be some places equal to them, but none surpass! Beautiful post, Mr Ben.

I knew an Alaskan surfer. He told me the thing he feared in the water was male Sea Elephants. Said they were aggressive as heck and the size of VW vans.

What a cool surfing excursion ! Well put together and the beauty of the locations, Wow ! The film of climbing the mountain and looking down in the bay with the Milo at anchor. It looked so beyond fun ! Somebody please tell me who sang the song at 9:56 "That's all i do" an not the beatles version ? help me out here people !

And... The singer at the beginning that they have mixed in is Esther Phillips singing "And I Love Him", then Kelis comes in singing "Trick Me Once". Took me a while!
