This puts into perspective how young the modern music industry as we know it today was. This entire report is done with a hint of resentment all throughout. It shows that back then they weren't used to musicians making so much money and felt like these particular kind of musicians didn't deserve it as hard rock, glam, and psychedelic was still looked down upon by the generation before it. They have no idea no much money artist would be making today. Even the shitty ones!

Jimmy Page molded the Led Zeppelin mystique and image.
It was an idea he had a couple of years before he gathered the original four together.
At the center of the Led Zeppelin ideal was Jimmy's guitar sound and his ability.
One of the rules of his business dealings that he always stuck with was to avoid ever making any songs that were radio friendly and capable of being a one-hit wonder.
Another rule was to never allow video or filming to get onto TV early on.
He wanted everyone to see them in concert instead.
To feel the experience in person.
Peter Grant demanded way more than anyone else at the time for concert ticket sales profits.
He made it nearly impossible for anyone to run concession stands profiting off of Led Zeppelin.
This is documented in the movie.
Of all the Rockstars in the world from the 70's still alive today, Jimmy Page has managed to escape controversy, bankruptcy, drug rehab, and ANY slump in average sales.
    Look at him physically.
He looks pretty good for 79.
    He hasn't lost a step.
    Stays very busy.
    He's my favorite guitar player.
    James Patrick Page!

But truly the she just talks about money, and although Led Zeppelin certainly had their fair share of it, thanks to Peter Grant and Led Wallet Page, the greatest thing was really the buzz their band created, the feeling in the air like electricity when you heard their songs.

But reputedly Grant was in pretty deep with the mob, as was the Atlantic label as a whole, although I don’t think Ahmet Ertegun himself was implicated. I don’t recall whether the feds were able to pin anything on Grant beyond a reasonable doubt, or whether, like with Al Capone in an earlier era, they did not establish a crime (at least not until they got Capone’s tax returns). There were shady doings surrounding Grant and briefcases of money, however, and Led Zeppelin were unfortunately definitely one of the acts caught up in the payola mess. Almost certainly, though, Led Zeppelin and the other artists caught up in the labels’ shady dealings had no idea bribes were being paid or that their careers were being underwritten by mobsters. It was almost all 100% the label execs’ foul play, in cahoots with radio station owners, popular “taste-making” DJs, PR firms, venue owners, concert promoters, and band managers.
