Excellent information for the car buyer. Info that is a must if you are shopping for a car!!!

It is not really about "going all in on EVs" and much more about having an inferior, more expensive product than some others...

I actually like the Mach E GT. But I hate it’s called a mustang. And the lease and buy options are terrible.

Heard it’s comfy and drives nice but like you say - that ain’t no Mustang!

      Got a Pony on it, but I don't call it a Mustang, either. It's a Mach-E.
But it definitely earns the name with equal-to-Mustang performance off the line.

There is currently a new 2022 Mach E still on the lot in Warren Pa that is marked down $20k

Ford advertised a better price on reservations then upped it and people cancelled. Ford was all in on high EV prices and now can't adjust. I really don't think the big 3 (or 2 now) will be able to adapt.

You may be right! But are EVs the absolute answer? Toyota doesn’t seem to think so . . .

Dealers were marking them up independently.

If Ford would quit bastardizing their legacy model names and had just called it a Mach-E it might have had better reception. It’s not a Mustang.

That supply is looking ugly. Definitely not looking good for other manufacturers that are going to be entering the EV market 🌚

40k for the base model (after the drop) is nowhere near giving them away, I would take one for 15-20 because That's what I'm used to paying for a 2-4 year old car. I'll never understand why so many people sacrifice their wallet for my benefit. The F150 Lightning is my literal dream vehicle.

They are currently "giving them away" with $12k off msrp, additional $3K cash back, and 72 months at 0% interest. Posted my first months' experience with a 2023 GT PE in another comment.

The new incentives might be working here in Canada, ive seen a decent few brand new ones lately. I think this situation is car conpanies overestimating the number of people looking for an EV and how much they are willing to spend. There is also the issue that ford hasnt making them very long so if someone is in that market, they buy a tesla because they hear about all the features and know that they arent buying a first generation product.

Is Ford advertising them? How are the ICE Mustangs doing?

  • @KaiPonte

Wow, that's a crazy number. What happened? I see them every day on the road. Not as many as the Tesla Model Y, but they are all over. I have 26,000 miles on my '22 and no need to get another. I haven't used a public charging station since - well - November. That's currently three months.

Did you get it for a reasonable price? Like you, we do see a lot of them but right now the market has tanked

@@GuysTalkingCars Here in Texas they are super rare to see on the road. But, on the lots there very easy to find.

@@GuysTalkingCars i paid sticker. My father in law had just passed away at 86 so I needed a reliable car to make the 40 mile drive to his house a couple times a day to get all his stuff. Plus, I need something with carpool lane access so I can avoid the traffic my 2016 Malibu hybrid was on its last legs, and my mechanic was begging me to get rid of it. I test drove the mock E, the ionic five, the model, Y, and the ID.4.
getting an electric was an obvious choice because my daily commute is about 25 miles each way through a lot of traffic so anything with a gas engine would be bad.

We don't want EVs! This administration needs to stop the forced EV mandate.
Personally I feel like it should be a transition. OEMs should be focusing on hybrids and plug-in hybrids while doing some EVs.
