Cajones! Ranking a Johnny Cash album as one of Petty’s top 10! Lol! Gotta say I was pretty shocked by your rankings but that’s Part of the fun of these lists. I really actively dislike the number one choice of yours! Wildflowers to me is sooo uneven.... sure some good songs - good to be king only a broken heart, come to mind- but any album with pseudo blues stinkers like honey bee and cabin- Represents a real low point for a guy as talented as petty. Let me up I’ve had enough to me is a better album! Agree on mudcrutch albums being both awesome - I might’ve even put them higher. I feel that damn the torpedoes is probably his pinnacle. Then I’d go something like this though fairly interchangeable at the top: 2. Debut 3 you’re gonna get it 4 hard promises 5 full moon fever 6 mudcrutch 2 7 mudcrutch 8 long after dark 9 into the great wide open 10 hypnotic eye. Those to me are cream of the crop ... but I admit I am not familiar with some of his albums (echo, highway companion). Do not like southern accents album- don’t come around here I think ruined it for me). Anyway - nice list and post! Thanks for creating it!
16. Let Me Up I've Had Enough 15. Music from She's the One 14. Hypnotic Eye 13. The Last DJ 12. Mojo 11. Highway Companion 10. Long After Dark 9. You're Gonna Get It!!! 8. Southern Accents 7. Hard Promises 6. Into the Great Wide Open 5. Echo 4. Damn the Torpedoes 3. Full Moon Fever 2. Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers 1. Wildflowers
I only really disagree with Echo, of which I'm just not a fan. I also sometimes go through phases where I really like both long after dark AND let me up, I think I like the 'feeling' of the heartbreakers playing on them more than the actual songs (although the song "let me up I've had enough" is a hidden gem).

Awesome list.

Never been a petty fan aside from a few singles from the eighties. Thought his videos were better. I’ll have to check out a few of these.
Richard Fonseca hope you like them
Thank you for putting Echo up high in your ranking. Misunderstood classic.
Porkins it’s one of his best
Nice :)
