Good video! Surprised you have your top few at a strong 5 stars and yet Seventeen Seconds is still at a 3.5. All the Cure albums I've heard so far (all the ones up until Wish) are in a 4-4.5 star range for me so I guess I feel the quality between them is closer, (and also by result of no 5s I'm more a fan than a megafan I suppose). Very interesting!
3.5 stars are still really good in my book, all of the first couple of records are really close to 4, but albums like Disintegration and Kiss me, or Head on the Door have much better songwriting in my opinion, as a whole album a better listening experience.
Great ranking and reviews! I've been very slowly running through all their albums with plans to eventually rank them all, I'm not quite there yet since there are always lots of other distractions but someday. I expect there will be some differences with my list but can't argue with those top albums.
14) 4:13 Dream (3.75 stars) 13) Three Imaginary Boys (3.75 stars) 12) Wild Mood Swings (4 stars) 11) The Cure (4 stars) 10) Seventeen Seconds (4.5 stars) 09) Faith (4.5 stars) 08) Bloodflowers (5 stars) 07) Wish (5 stars) 06) Japanese Whispers (5 stars) 05) Pornography (5 stars) 04) The Top (5 stars) 03) The Head on the Door (5 stars) 02) Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me (5 stars) 01) Disintegration (5 stars)
I had the Trilogy DVD set and I thought it was brilliant. Maybe the connections from album to album are tenuous, but I thought it was still a fun idea and I loved the results. Insightful interviews too.
Totally agree
Thank you :)

Blood Flowers is an incredible album !

Hopefully we get a new Cure album this year and we can all take the plunge.

Well done mate! 🥳
Wild Mood Swings is infinitely better than 4:13 Dream.
Glad you like it :)
Wild Mood Swings is a top three Cure album for me.
I’d put The Top lower and Pornography higher, but other than that I’m pretty much in agreement with your rankings.
Pornography, Disintegration and Bloodflowers are all gloomy albums; that's why they did the trilogy I think.
Yeah, but so are Faith and Seventeen Seconds.
@@riffreverence Yeah, some people view those albums along with Pornography as the "real trilogy."
