    Highly advise running 1500 for relatively newer vehicles AKA 2017 and up, isn’t necessary to go lower unless you have extremely faded headlights then start with 800, go to 1200 then finish off with 2-3k

      I have extremely YELLOW oxidized lights, what grit should I use in order??? Ty for your advice

    • @Ksoism
      @Ksoism 2 месяца назад +6

      It's better to use more time, and start with 1500 or 1000 at most.
      When you sand with the coarse grit, you do the actual sanding. You are basically knocking stuff down, to the level of the scratches. Then the rest are (basically) just to polish it, to knock down the grooves made by coarser paper. Each step is basically to get it down to the level that paper leaves, maybe a micron more.
      Then the compound to make it gloss, although it can be done with papers, as long as you go to fine enough grits, step by step.
      If you seal the headlights with wax or something like it, remember to reapply. It won't last forever, and then it goes to worse than before real fast.
      I recommend a polishing kit with UV hardening lacquer, but remember that they hate water, and really need hard sunshine. But they are good when the weather is right.

    • @Clanps
      @Clanps Месяц назад

      Mine were like this, I started at 600 grit until the water that was dripping wasn't yellow anymore then start moving up in grit until you have a nice smooth 2000-3000 grit. Just know it takes time to sand all that ao you may be at it for hours. @@cindygomez5414

      I did two headlights on a same car, on the same day, with the same kit. Other was good for years, other side went bad in months. Weather turned to just a bit cloudy and a smallest water droplet came from somewhere to that light when I applied it. It just didn't harden like it should have.

    Best way to keep things permanent is to wet sand then spray a couple coats of clear. Youll see the haze from the sanding start to disappear and as the coats dry the headlight will look brand new. You can even wet sand after with 2000 grit and then polish and wax for wet finish.

    everything went correctly up until the "sealant" part... neither of those products are a sealant, just protectant to use AFTER its been sealed by either another clearcoat or an actual ceramic coating😂

    Torch would have been far more time considering

      You should never torch headlights! The thin plastic isn’t going to hold heat. Also the UV coating on the headlights must be redone, simply torching it doesn’t do anything. Torch can work for faded black plastic trim that’s made of an entirely different material

    Do not do this if you don’t know what you are doing. Forewarning you will fuck up your headlights and scratch theeee shit out of the plastic and it will not be clear they will be foggy and very very ugly. I just watched my friend use this video for guidance and he totally botched the fugggg out of his headlights even going as far as not stopping after the first headlight application of this technique 😂😂😂 he totally has to buy new headlights now because he went the uncle floyd route and wanted to use a cheaper endeavor instead of taking his car to a professional that I advised him use like I did.. I’ll never just do something I’m not certain of… please don’t be gullible because of how cheap something may seem…
