    I have never known that you can save this bad headlights. Well done. But I think that if you have this much sanding to do, you should definitely remove the headlights from the car. That way you don't end up damaging the paint and you can sand all the way to the edges.

    Hi Morio, what a great , informative video. Your explanation, detail and photography made me understand fully what is needed to be done. Excellent, thank you. I have this problem with my headlight, relatively new car, but got the spider cracks. I don't know if I am game enough to try though? Can you tell me how long did it take you to go through the process of 60 grit sandpaper to 2000 grit sandpaper? I am just trying to work out my capabilities. Please let me know. Thanks.

    Those cracks are not actually cracks it’s factory clear coat cracked due to heat . Best and easy way to make job easy is to use a paint stripper on the light to remove that in under 5 minutes it will be clean , then start with 1000 grid and go up to 3000 and then polish. Pretty much same results in 1/4th of a time . Excellent results 👌🏼👍

    • @moriovlogs5576
      @moriovlogs5576  3 года назад +1

      No, is not cracks on clear coat, is cracks on plastic. If you look video till the end, you will see some spots is still cracks bcz is too deep on plastic (13:50min) and I didn't sanding with hard sandpaper long enough. Headlights with damage like that, you cannot start with 1000 sandpaper. If you want I will make video with clear coat damage.
      Soon I will post video with very hard and deep scratches on headlight. Everybody told me go and buy new, is not possible to fix.
      Thanks for your comment and see you on next video.

    @spinna6996 3 года назад +3

    Holy frigging hell, I am surprised you had any headlight left after using that grit sandpaper on it! You took waaaaaay to much material off with the 60grit!
    Also using a drill with sanding pad on the end is a bad idea, you have stuff all control over it and it's basically like using a grinder that spins a little slower! Use an orbital sander if you have to use anything, way more control, variable speed and it doesn't spin like a grinder and dig craters in your job!
    You should've been able to do that entire headlight with minimum 180grit. Then 240grit.
    And then gone to 320 or 400 wet.
    Then 600, 800, finish it off with 1000grit wet!
    But you seem to have forgotten the most important part.........You have to re clear it! That's what you sanded off at the start, and is what protects the plastic!
    If you don't, the plastic will turn yellow, become very brittle and eventually break in a very short time!

      You have to, the scratches are under it, what else do you expect, if he wants to add new coating it's up to him, or just regular wax or polish is good too.
