  • Whats up everybody!
This is a how-to on restoring severely oxidized headlights that have a surface spider-webbing effect!
NOTE! Please keep in mind, there are many headlight restoration methods, and other resto processes can potentially generate these/similar results. For ME, this is the most efficient method & yields the best/longest lasting results that I’ve found in over 15 years of detailing. The end result speaks for itself. Remember, the process outlined is for severely oxidized headlights with a good amount of surface build-up. The condition of the headlights seen in the video are worse than most headlights you typically encounter, in terms of build-up. On more typical headlight restorations/less severe cases you might be able to get away with just buffing/polishing, or just utilizing 3000 grit & then buffing/polishing, or just utilizing 2500, 3000 & then buffing/polishing, etc. etc.

Nice work man! I like sanding by hand also, it takes longer than using a 3 inch pad on the drill or DA, but it works just as well also, I also compound and polish with the rotary and 3 inch pads, I use wool and foam from buff and shine, Meguiar’s 105 and 205 for compound and polish, protection either a sealant or coating.

My car is a 2020 and is looking cracked in the nights 😢 started to fog in the upper side, do you think cracks could be in the upper side of the plastic or those are always completely in the interiors?

So, no UV protectant for the plastic?
Don't the headlights come from factory with a UV coating, that sanding and buffing will remove?
