First of all this is by far the best guide about gravity drives I have ever seen. Secondly you dont need 9 groups you only need 3 groups and put each of them into one of the timer blocks toolbars so you have 7x3=21 increases or decreases of acceleration. Thirdly when building it you want to have 7.4 mass blocks per linear gravity generators for lightweight ships you can reduce the ratio a bit. Fourthly for pvp you want to have a forward and backward but also a upward(or any of the other directions) gravity drive to dodge projectiles. Sixthly to control them without the scripts you can simply use a program for macros like AHK to convert your wasd into 1234 or something like that.
There is a compact gravity drive that works off a single spherical gravity generator surrounded by 6 mass blocks (1 in each direction) Works pretty good for large grid fighters. Just set the spherical generator to a few meters and power consumption is low as well
Wow that's Great! I love this! The scripted Video is totally the way to do it!! I'll be experimenting with this today. Well done video - Thanks for this!!
Im thinking now you might be able to have gravity drives activate based on thruster percentage with the new event blocks that would make things easier.
On a large grid ship, just use a rotor with a small head to attack small grid AI block and eventually controllers, does all the same stuff for a fraction of the size ;D Also doubles as a cool AI core center piece
No, sadly gravity generators act like ion thrusters on planets. They simply do not function at all. There is something called a Klang drive, but that uses the hangar doors if memory serves me right.
@@elijahgrimm8052 Aw nuts. I was hoping to at least create a bouncy-castle like effect with negative gravity generators on my planetary base. They don't work at all? what a shame.
@@elijahgrimm8052 ion thrusters still function in the atmosphere, just at only 20% thrust and gravity generators still work until 0.5g, so you can use them on moons, but their force will be only 50%
At higher points at the edge of space it may work though anywhere with strong planetary gravity will not as gravity generators do not produce gravity in 1.0g
if you find that earth, pertam, triton etc you end up with no artificial gravity left. Moons which have .25 gravity you still keep a decent amount of artificial gravity. I crashed a ship on a moon with a grav drive and was able to crawl back into space using it.
Since you made a great tutorial explaining gravit drive. Could make one about vector thrusters. There are few videos explaining it. And they explain it very poorly. 🇧🇷 Já que voce fez um ótimo tutorial explicando o gravit drive. Poderia fazer um sobre propulsores vetoriais. Existem poucos videos explicando. E eles explicam muito mal.

Really good tutorial! Well done!
Very useful information. 👍
Note: Gravity drive topspeed 104+ m/s
Catching up to fleeing enemies is a thing.
Pls share the blueprints of both of the Gdrive ships... They look pretty cool... Awesome video
3:00 would love to build this ship with and without scripts, is it on the workshop

Definetly possible! I've seen it done before though it does require a lot of event controllers, but go ahead and give it a go!

Is it possible to use gravity generators and gravity drives to fight and escape a planet’s gravitational field?
Or perhaps a way to nullify gravity on a planet’s surface with them?

Even if they did work they would be really disorientating as they constantly flip you around as you flip to align with gravity which is now upwards
Will this work if you fly to a Planets gravity???

Not sure why we need 9 groups of the same blocks?

Does with work on xbox ?
Manual drive yes, scripted drive no
Gonk
doesn't work it just brakes all the time blocks, mass block's and gravity gen's
Then you don't have your settings configured properly
WHAT SORCERY IS THIS!?!?!?
