My mother's mother was very elegant. I especially remember her being organized, disciplined, and knowing how to dress herself in a way that suited her. She had a very distincitive, natural style. She was also kind and wise. I miss her.

My Grandma was just like that. She didn't make and plate food - she prepared and served. She didn't get dressed, she put on an outfit. Even when she took out garbage, she prepared herself to go out. Skirt, blouse and shoes matched, face clean and hair combed. She even cleaned her glasses. And all that for walking 100 meters to the garbage bin.

I especially loved the point about boundaries👍🏻
One more thing I would like to add to is that having elegance also means being able to compliment people and boost someone's morale when is needed and that would mean having empathy. So Empathy is also a trait of an elegant woman in my opinion.

    Dear Jamila,
In accordance with your lovely appearence I would add: a kind, gentle and calm voice - but without any tinge of superiority or arrogance (which sadly is part of some other „elegant“ women on RUclips …).
You embody elegance in and out ❤

    0:41 1. being organized/disciplined
    (Make your bed-book)
2:35 2. wear what suits you
(wear clothes according to your body type, undertone, "who you are", how to incorporate trends)
6:11 3. being attentive to details
    (beauty hidden in details)
    8:03 4. speaking eloquently
    (reading, reading,reading)
    9:52 5. using intentional gestures
(try filming yourself to see if you have any poor habits, work on more composed ones)
12:23 6. taking care of hygiene
(physical as well as mental hygiene)
    14:11 7. being in love with yourself❤️
These are just my quick notes. I reccommend watching the whole video as there are many good tips. I think i need to work on all of these but i'll start with discipline and self-love💞

So, I live in a rural area, work a couple days a week in town. Today is a day off and I dressed quite casually- jeans, sweater and cardigan. I looked in the mirror and promptly changed into a more put together outfit and now feel much better. No one will see me but I feel a zillion times better! I will save the gardening clothes for actual time in the garden :) These things are important.

Wonderful definition of elegance, Jamila. Every single aspect was covered accurate and flawlessly. You're absolutely right and I agree with you that self respect is quintessential to build a strong foundation as human beings on a daily basis since an elegant lady will never humiliate or denigrate anyone around her under any circumstance. The way people express themselves and treat others is far more revealing than the garments they wear. Let proper education, good manners and etiquette do the talking. I'm so grateful you are here helping us become the best version of ourselves. Thank you so much 🙏🏻💖

Thank you so much for your videos. I enjoyed them very much and I learn a lot. One thing I want to add about being an elegant woman is that we do not use profanity. When I hear a woman using profanity, it does not look good on her and it certainly doesn't sound good. And it takes away from her beauty. 💋

    Hi, Jamila,
This is possibly one of the best videos you have presented. I must thank you because this video has brought to my attention details I have let go since I retired from work. I should now apply myself in order to return to who I really am. I like a timeless and classic style, and that is what I have in my closet because I dressed professionally for work. I should now find items to fit my current status of a retired lady, still with the same timeless and classic style.

Very good content. I specially liked the sentence that being elegant starts by showing respect for yourself. I would also add that showing off obvious logos and expensive brands is not elegant. Real elegance is much more subtle and not related to consumption capacity, up to a certain point.

I think of gracefulness of movement, quiet deiberance, self confidence, and training when I think of elegance. I think you meant to say that you exude elegance instead of exuberate. 👍👍👍 Agree on everyting with one exception: many people while trying to use hand gestures in a conscius way, they look really far from natural. It seems to be extreemly visible like too big artificial lashes 😂 when one uses hands gestures learned.
it is a thin line between showing elegance and being fake / performer. It can be really tricky 😎

I really want to know how to drink elegantly whether it's coffee, tea or any other beverages specially at professional places or business meetings.

Kudos to you, Ms. Jamilla! I highky agree with all that you said! Elegance is something inside which exudes from your pores that other people will recognize even if one doesn't wear branded clothes (more so, i believe). Thank you giving us a giid summary of what I have observed from different people through the years.

I'm a third-year college student who recently noticed that I'm unhappy with Stylie, my general appearance and my daily routine. So I try to learn how to become an elegant woman to feel good about myself and to present myself in a way that suits me and looks like me. This video by you , Jameela is helpful.thank you🌹-by the way I like your name (جميلة ،إسم على مسمّى)-

Usually we sleep and sweat in the bed all night. It needs time to air out in the morning. I do understand the discipline and thought behind making the bed each morning. I guess one could make the best last. Before going out the door. 🚪
