    The Texas Rattlesnake
Piledriver: The Rock And Wrestling Radio Show. Show #44
    January 6, 2001
    Stone Cold Interview:
Steve Austin starts the interview very sleepy. He’s cautious at first with his answers as he feels out the course of the conversation. He is back performing with knee braces. He has a lot of knee damage the braces are not painful to perform in. He needs extra support. Better to wear knee braces than not. He’s trying to prevent having to undergo reconstructive knee surgery. He was out for a year and thought his wrestling career was over.
He’s undergone spinal surgery and bone spurs. A month before his return appearance he only then felt confident about getting back in the ring.
No truth to rumor his wife works out in the ring with him and beats him up. Wait, she works out with him but does not beat him up. (He was not too happy with this line of questioning)
He did have TV and Movie options should a return to ring not happen. He could have a 5-7 year TV commitment but he was not ready to commit to acting. (Nash Bridges etc.)
He Loves the WWF with Live Audiences and PPV. There is nothing like the rush and adrenaline of wrestling. He is committed for two years with the WWF.
    More Stone Cold:
While Steve was out injured The Rock and Triple H did a hell of a job, a credit to them and their talents. WWF continues to build stars like the NFL builds running backs.
The Show Must Go On. Stone Cold on his character and performances helped put WWF where it is today (2001). He was influential and changed with the business. He is modest and changed with the business. He is grateful for the opportunity. He did push back on writers who edited his lines and personality. Bottom Line: He was in the right place at the right time. He had the right ideas. Wrestling was ready!
Brian Pillman convinced him that he was a “Babyface”. It was then that the crowd changed. His injury came at a bad time. He’s almost 100%. He’ll give it all he has.
    Continued:
Steve’s Unforgiven Match in 2000, he was not 100%. He works out like crazy, has a gym in his house, He jumps rope, being in the ring is what keeps him in the best shape. He’s busting his ass.
Football shape or Wrestling Shape? Football is short bursts; Wrestling is constant and tougher. He’s excited to be back and says he feels like Forrest Gump with knee braces.
    Candy’s Corner:
Candy is on the road. Rumor has it she is hunting Triple H. He’s hurt and needs her.
Chyna, Trish, Lita, Tori and Terri are invited to Howard Stern’s birthday party in New York City. WWFDivas.com revamped its website. There are more pictures and rumors. Vince may introduce a new Mrs. McMahon (a lady about Stephanie’s age). The internet rumors are its Rena Mero, but she is not coming back to WWF.
    More Candy’s Corner:
Movie: The Bubble Boy. Two WCW girls will star as mud wrestlers. Baby of the Nitro Girls is going back to college. Nitro Girls may be disbanded. WCW Pamela used to date Pauly Shore.
WOW Women of Wrestling will get its own PPV.
    The Speculum (Otis Brawl)
2001 starts with 3 federation PPV’s. Kane, Triple H, Undertaker announced for headliners Rock and Steve Austin could be Main Event.
Mick Foley and wife expecting third child, could be why he’s out a commissioner. He’s writing a book about WWF Superstars as children.
    Farmclub.com could be buying ECW.
USA hurting from loss of WWF. WCW may move to Las Vegas or Los Angeles.
Scott Steiner almost fired for fight backstage with Big Poppa Pump.
    Sabu may return to ECW.
More Speculum: No big Poppa Pump not coming back to ECW. He was released by Paul Heyman and Paul cannot pay him AND his legal bills. Glacier returning to WCW Hard Core.
Listener Calls: Dr Orange. Calls from St. Louis, Davenport, Ill. Fort Worth, and Riverside Calif.
    Kodiak’s Wrestling Dictionary:
Where is The Giant Gonzales? Went from WCW to WWF he had airbrushed muscles and fur. He has moved back to Argentina.
Freak: FU of The Week: F U to Smackdown! They are selling too much stuff on QVC.
The Pit: Wrestling Smack Talk and Commentary.
