Love this concept however I feel it would be enhanced considerably by a short pre-match interview/chat with the pro in the clubhouse giving some background on himself and the course with a little footage of the facilities. Maybe an interesting anecdote or two. His course record and the course record. Signature holes. It can be edited into a few minutes and can even be cut back into during the round especially stuff like the signature hole (when you are actually on the tee) and anecdotes about parts of the course.
I recognise that this is easy for me to say but adds to the editing work.
It is hard to have a congenial chat on the course because of the focus on the game but it might actually be easier if the scene has been set for those asides later. Also a few of the quiet comments to the camera could barely be picked up and heard. I understand why.

Absolutely! The matches vs tour pro's get you invested because they're tour pro's. But these can come across as Pete vs some random guy... Would love to see your suggestion being included!

I agree. While the cuts along the match are fun, getting that up front really helps us root for both of you throughout the match.
Love this series Pete, great way to show off the courses you play while letting the head pros have a bit of airtime. Shows potential customers how welcoming these places will be. Keep it up!
The editing work for the shot tracers is just next level. Drone and on the course hole map. Game changer!!!
Also didn’t appreciate that a shop Pro is not going to be playing in front of good sized crowds. You just think Pro - so tournaments, events and people where it’s often more lessons, club champs etc.

Completely agree, gives much more context to each shot and allows you to see what they’re trying to do on each hole.

A cynical man might say Pete deliberately missed some of those putts. Tough for the club Pro, clearly being very nervous with the cameras and probably not playing up to his best.
Very glad you said this. Too many people wouldn't.
I can see he was nervous which was quite disappointing because I expect a club pro to be a lot mentally stronger.
Amazing how the headspace messes with your game. The other week I was running late after having a “difficult” discussion with one of the staff at work, I was hurried and in a foul mood when I got to the first tee. I shot 21 shots worse than my happy relaxing round a few days prior.

Most club pros are busy shop workers rarely getting chance to have a game of golf
Entertaining series Peter! I’d be interested in knowing the pro’s best round at their home course.
Great video. Although thanks to whoever did the graphics I had no idea what the real score was for the whole round. 4th Par 3 Digger 3 down, graphic shows hole 3 Par 5 2 down, Pete's 3up on 14, loses the hole and....remains 3 up? No bonus for that guy.
Right? Was that a mistake, or a miscount?
Absolutely love these. One of the best things is when the niceness temporarily fades and they make each other putt the 3 footers - proper match play.

I'm liking the series. Maybe even rivaling Rick's break 75. The shot-tracer above the hole map for the tee shots on hole 2 was awesome. You get an insight into the line you take off the tee and shot shape. Great video, keep the series going

No drama in Break 75. No consequences. It's nothing compared to taking on a pro at their own course with a crowd following you
Kinda... but it's match play, neither of them broke 75 in this match by some way much easier than stroke play
I double agree, that's what I meant, Pete is facing a real difficult challenge, and with a partisan crowd against a pro that lives and breathes the course. Don't get me wrong though, I like break 75 and Rick too.

This is your trademark series! Was this before or after the Women's Scottish open, the course looks in top shape. If there was a quick 10 second intro to each hole, explaining how to play it, it would make this even better.

Fantastic vid, really enjoyed it. It showcased a fantastic looking course and also shows some of the genuinely awesome people in the industry who work at these clubs and make them fantastic. Digger was a legend and great play from both of you. Vids like this show why golf is a great sport.

What an amazing way to make a match between 2 mates way more interesting, I`ve noticed myself how hard it is filming and playing golf at the same time

Great stuff Peter. I’d like to have heard Digger tell you about the (original) historic bunker at the back of that beautiful par 3 11th hole. I was in it. It’s only about 8 feet either way and the lip was over my head!! Awesome hoke and awesome feature!! Needless to say I didn’t get out first time! 😂⛳️👍👍

Looking at how your playing and how Ricks playing recently I feel the rumoured golf bidder challenge would be a very one sided affair
Top quality as always Mr Finch after 1st couple of holes thought be done in 15mins but the pro calmed down a bit got his game together & you give him a chance with some of those putts. Must say that was some top golf on the 12th from you both 🤔 keep up the 2 excellent channels 🏌♂️⛳💪🍺

Enjoyed this but it was like watching two players that were at least 9 strokes apart. Nerves clearly got to the pro and he stayed tight all round unfortunately, but credit too to Pete: he's playing incredible well ATM.
