I'm not all that interested in self-driving capability at this point. I hope they aren't getting distracted by that and delaying the launch of more affordable EVs, like the Model 2. I'd just like something simple and reliable.

My first car was a 1968 VW Bug and I've mostly chosen base models ever since. They just seem to last longer. I'm mostly interested in those things that satisfy the main objective of a car - which is to get me where I want to go and back. There are some modern features I especially like: backup cameras, antilock brakes, intermittent wipers, power locks, air conditioning. Many things are wasted on me though, such as: power sunroofs, auto dimming mirrors, powered, heated, and cooled seats, heated steering wheels, powered hatches and doors, elaborate infotainment, bluetooth, little $40 motors running heater dampers that take $1500 labor to replace, motorized parking brakes, non-mechanical gearshift controls. Maybe it's just bad luck, but it seems like things I never wanted in the first place are the ones that fail. Having a power window that's stuck open in the middle of the winter in Western NY can turn one into a grouch pretty quickly.

Well. I live in Panama. Many Chinese manufacturers offering EV’s for $20,000. Tesla is a Chinese kit assembled in the USA. Changan is selling a EV sedan with 200 mile range for $18,000. Nothing new here in Panama.

You forget that musk lies about everything. Any model 2 will be 2 or 3 years down the road and will cost considerably more than $20,000. Real full self driving will be possibly more than 5 years down the road, if achievable at all, therefore no real robotaxi for quite some time.

I can roll down my own window, I'll drive not some computer, and so on. Give me a model 2 redwood that's twice the size. But i know they wount infact, i know they can't so I'll keep my large full size luxurious Jaguar XJl which provides me with 3 minutes of down times, 570 miles of range, rear passenger entertainment package for Netflix movies, you tube music and blue tooth, laptop plug ins and phone charging units throughout the entire ship, paid off at 41K and more than a pleasure to drive. Serves me more than well on my yearly 7,800 miles of long range travels i do and gives me the ability to keep moving. Put all these fine features, qualities and improvements into an EV, Now we're talkin. Then im all in. I gave up my model S. It became to attentive and i realized that my jaguar XJl provides me with everything the model S did and more. So i got rid of the model S along with higher insurance premiums and the times needed for sitting around like some bad ass kid in time out. I actually feel like alot of waight was lifted from my shoulders.
I don’t think so. Have you seen the new models introduced in China by BYD. Xpeng , Xiaomi , Zeekr , Li , …. And the price at launch. Tesla is facing an army of EV automakers that are very high quality. I’m not so sure it can stand out. And the Chinese are launching new models much faster than Tesla. It will be challenging

Serves me more than well on my yearly 7,800 miles of long range travels i do and gives me the ability to keep moving. Put all these fine features, qualities and improvements into an EV, Now we're talkin. Then im all in. I gave up my model S. It became to attentive and i realized that my jaguar XJl provides me with everything the model S did and more. So i got rid of the model S along with higher insurance premiums and the times needed for sitting around like some bad ass kid in time out. I actually feel like alot of waight was lifted from my shoulders.

I don’t think so. Have you seen the new models introduced in China by BYD. Xpeng , Xiaomi , Zeekr , Li , …. And the price at launch. Tesla is facing an army of EV automakers that are very high quality. I’m not so sure it can stand out. And the Chinese are launching new models much faster than Tesla. It will be challenging

American car manufacturers are so far behind in EVs it's telling. Bolt? Chevy? Lol. Tesla keeps heralding in continuous innovation and keeps moving ahead of anything American but not necessarily Chinese. Give me Tesla's clever integrated approach - ALWAYS ahead of less than appealing Detroit offerings.
