Lightning strikes Metallica concert at the perfect time
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 24 май 2024
- Lighting provided an extraordinary backdrop for a Metallica concert in Munich on Friday, 24 May.
The US heavy metal band were performing at the German city's Olympiastadion as part of their M72 world tour.
Footage posted on X/Twitter by @SunsetGirlJane captured the moment lightning struck as the band began playing "Master of Puppets" from the 1986 album of the same name.
"A thunderstorm happened and it made for the coolest f***ing intro of all time," the X/Twitter user said.

@user-zb9ul4vt8q what the heck are you talking about?
The fact lightning struck at the start of master of puppets is VERY much metal.
Not just for the fact that the timing was insane.
Not just the fact that it added to the atmosphere and feel of the concert.
But also, factually speaking. Lighting and thunder have been historically used and associated with metal music since as long as it has been around.
Lightning in album artwork. Lighting effects used at live shows. Lighting and storms are the subject of MANY famous metal and rock songs,
Ride the Lighting
Thunderstruck etc..
In fact, most famous metal bands have either featured lighting on some art work, or on song lyrics.

To just outright make a statement that lightning striking at the start of master of puppets, one of THE MOST iconic metal riffs of all time, has no significance in the metal community. The band or anyone that was there. Is not only incorrect, but shows your lack of understanding not just of metal. But live music in general.
Every person that understands metal music will agree that the lightning striking added to the impact of the song. And I can bet the members of metallica will feel the same way.

Hi Cliff! How's it going?
Awesome. Saw this happen once at a metal festival, Lamb of God was playing and right as the singer hit an epic long scream with the classic rockstar pose, lightning struck in a straight line down perfectly behind him. Will never forget that. Also before that as the storm was first approaching the first sounds of thunder hit and rain started right as the deftones started the first notes of their set. It was soo perfect
Cliff looking down on their buddies. Awesome!!!
I remember being on Stadium in Warsaw when AC/DC played Thunderstruck, it was very similar moment. Pity that wasn't Ride The Lightning
I was apprehensive clicking on this video. I fully expected Lightning McQueen to dart across the screen at some point...
I got to see Metallica play in Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA on the Black album tour right before they went on the ill-fated tour with Guns N’ Roses. It was a full-blown thunderstorm the whole time with lightning everywhere. They played through it, although I have to think with the rain and electricity that electrocution was a big risk. I think this was summer of 1991. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
God is a rocker, I knew it!
God used Creeping death to inspire me to read the Bible cover to cover and become a Born again Christian, because the song is based off the 10 commandments movie and the 10 commandments movie is based off the second book of the Bible “Exodus” and the song is referencing (Exodus: 11) in the Bible.
