Love the setup! I have avoided going to the dark side of dawless but it looks like I'll have to one day. Btw I love your music! I've never been particularly good at this style and you crush it every time!
Thanks a lot @VultureCulture, thanks for the kind words! Yes, I've been using Reaper for almost all my music up until fairly recently, with live sequencing at gigs/livestreams. I'm never giving up my DAW, but DAWless can be inspiring/spontaneous, so why not do both I say!? In fact, my next video on this setup may be starting a song from scratch, then literally taking the MIDI out of the RK008 into my DAW, where I turn it into a finished song.
That's a really a supercool pattern set there Jeremy - nice! Also - do check out performance mode (ALT+ROUTE) maybe you like that too for muting and part transpose by midi key
Thank you @RetrokitsDev for the compliments and suggestion. I will give that a try, sounds interesting! (I'm still learning the device, but a lot of capability in such a small package.)
@RetrokitsDev I just made a 3D print/model of a case/stand. Feel free to distribute if you think it's useful! www.printables.com/model/598185-retrokits-rk008-case-stand
This is so awesome! There are not many funk jams out there demoing cool gear like this so thank you! Can you use the RK008 to change the CCs on the Analog Rytm or best to do that from the Electron? Seems like the RK008 is great for songwriting instead of using the common step sequences from Electron and MPC etc.
Thanks Simon, glad to demo with some funk! I only had the Analog Rytm set up to sync MIDI MMC/tempo, and I usually do all the Elektron sequencing on it directly. But yes, theoretically you could use an external MIDI controller and map its pads/keys/knobs, etc. to the Analog Rytm and use the RK008 as the sequencer for all your drum sounds. I don't think there is a 'local control off' mode though on the Elektron (which is what I'm doing with the Nord), where you could trigger the Elektron notes/CCs through the RK008 and back into the Elektron. And yes, the RK008 is a handy little sequencer to have when you want to do some songwriting with either a few pieces of gear or something multitimbral like the Nord.

Funky Cool Vibe Syncopated Rhythms Running Along A Vibrant Lead and Groove! In other words, I loved it Jeremy!
Thanks for the translation Dad :) and very glad you liked it!
NIce one! Love the calculator look of the RK8. This is a rad combo.
Thanks @bonuscreature! Yeah, love the style of the RK8. Just need an 80s Casio watch to wear while I play. :)

@@JeremyParkerMusic Thanks for the detailed reply! Sounds like the RK008 is super powerful 🙂
@@simonhornmusic you're welcome, indeed!
