It’s an exciting experience swift is a good place to start get experience and expand if you really want. They don’t put a lot of pressure. Learn as much as possible ask questions that really helps. And practice practice and you’ll be done fast it feels like a forever journey but the faster the better for you good luck see you here 👍
Food part is up to you. With my mentor, he always ate out at the truck stop restaurants unless he brought himself some crab legs from home. I always ate in the truck because I had brought my own food. Eating out all the time is really expensive, especially when you have to consider that when you buy a shower at a truck stop, it's normally $15-$20 depending on where you go. That stuff adds up.
Hey Hey can you elaborate a bit more on the orientation pre-trip test. Was it a full pre-trip test like the one we had to do in order to get the class A?
There isn’t a pretrip test. They had a swift employee walkthrough a basic pretrip with everyone attending orientation. Pretrips are important, but it isn’t as meticulous as what cdl schools make it to be, Although it should be just to be safe.
@@yellabish84 yes they do take you for a test drive it’s like 15-20mins they check how good your and if you can follow instructions so just listen to the instructor
Training usually takes about 4-5weeks it depends on the student driver i got like 8weeks all together I didn’t want to rush my self but you have to complete 200hrs driving but you can test at roughly 160hrs if you feel comfortable enough
@@drblitz3092 well i will say that i got trained on a 28 footer. And when i jumped into a 53 i founded it way better. Although you do have to make wider turns on a 53’ baking is way easier as you don’t have to make quick corrections as on a 28

Bueno cuando te vas a entrenamiento tienes que saver que no regresas asta en 5semanas solo si es una emergencia 🚨 si puedes pedir que te regresen pero si esta lejos es casi imposible a mi ya me apasado
Besides the medical drug vision and hearing test you get the 20ish minute drive test and you sign test and notion examination to make sure you won’t have issues when going with your mentor but they are simple don’t worry good luck 👍

In 2024 the pay is $650/week for training with Mentor.

Hi nice video, Question: Did they make you sign a contract and if so how long do you have to be with them???
They only do that if you go to their school. But if you have your license already you won't have to sign a contract

It might depend on your location? I’m hearing all kinds of different numbers. I’m in Colorado and in 2024 I was told $600.

different state different experience. they told me my Dot was uploaded from my clinic. and you dont get paid for orientation unless you are hired!
