reason, why I like to watch german made movies, is they are not base on stupidly unrealistic and totally exaggerated scenarios and heroics like Hollywood ones. Thanks for letting me feel the spirit.

But in the same time Germans in their movies they constantly represent the image of a german soldier as an innocent victim who was forcibly driven to war.they also really love to tell everyone that they lost, allegedly because of the russian frosts, then of the russian summer heat and from the fact that the mice ate tank hoses. Think about it, mate.

My grandfather killed someone for the first time when he was 16 in Stalingrad fighting the Germans and he always hated the fact he had to kill them. He said he didn’t hate the Germans he didn’t even know them but he had to do what his nation needed him to do. Hopefully Russia and Germany can now move on and be friends

When I was young I thought war was cool. These short films are absolutely amazing and show the true horror, fear and terror of what it must have been like, every day. What these troops from all side went through was nothing short of a living hell. Thank you for keeping these stories alive ...so hopefully we learn and never forget

I think just an afternoon in the rain in the mud, hungry, cold and very afraid would set anybody's head straight. That said, I can't see neither the US army of that day, nor the one of today endure and go through what the German army did. No food, no potable water, perpetual rain that will over time turn into snow as temperatures drop, mud everywhere, caking to your pants and making them heavy. The meat in your "hot soup" "marches in the ranks in spirit" like in the Sturmabteilung song "Die Fahne hoch!" all the fallen comrades .. meaning the ingredients are left to your imagination. And there are Russians everywhere and you're not sure if "Nye strelat' ya sdayus!" really means "Don't shoot, I surrender!". You are very scared, because of all the stories you hear about what goes on in Russian capitivity, much of that is very true. And disturbing to say the least. You can hear the voices of the Russian enemy at times, they're close and you don't really dare drop off to sleep. And you don't. Until somebody slams their rifle into your shoulder and screams wake the fuck up they're coming. Because you did sleep from all the exhaustion. In fact you're often not even aware that you slept just the moment before, as everything turns into a waking dream and you start to hear orchestral music that isn't really there. A part of you even thinks it is funny and you share a laugh with your comrades, despite nobody really knowing what's so funny. And those were the good days on the road to Vorkuta. The Soviet uranium mine that will eventually kill you.
I just don't see American LGBTQ-Rainbow Warrior soldiers suffer through that.

Тоже неплохо смахивает весь флёр с темы войны и показывает её уродливое лицо. Думаю там можно будет посмотреть с субтитрами... Ну или попробовать найти англо-говорящий аналог.

Каждый солдат должен выполнить свою боевую задачу. А умереть - только после ее выполнения.

What a strange statement... there are no winners in a war nowadays. The only winners are probably those who initiate war but don't participate in it.
Well, some wars where to get resources and land and may slaves. IN all wars ordinary people were killing each other, just in old wars leaders also were fighting or dying usually, nowadays, war is just business on deaths, where you will not see politicians fighting back to back, so what's the point?
Shortly of course, war is a hell for human's mental health.
We have many veterans, who won WWII, they were silent, no one ever said they want it happened again or telling stories how brave they were(usually their stories were like it happens like that). My granpa survived in this war and I have never heard a story from him, just in some special book him and his veterans posted stories about combats.
What I hate about the war - cruelty, crime and stupidity of politicians.
I have also found, that wars are needed, too many people on the planet, but by some reasons, white people usually love die at wars and with this pace, whites would disappear, Europeans, Russians, Americans - all at risk now. I believe other races and nations would survive and take over.

The video shows well that, despite the fact that the Wehrmacht was a tool in Nazis hands , the young soldiers on Eastern Front realized that they did not need this war.
So I like these three guys. All of them are now lying in the ground somewhere near Mozhaisk because of the Nazis. And our task today is to find their bones and rebury them so, that their grandchildren from Germany can come to them.

Ja lols being bilingual helps a lot. You think when you are learning a language. Man this is a waste of time I will never use it or it won't ever be a useful tool. WRONG! you will be surprised. I speak German English and Spanish. Only thing I have trouble with is if I'm doing something or watching something in German and if someone comes to me and starts using English or Spanish. I have to reboot lol it takes a second to get to that language haha cheers.
Danke! Guter Film. Ich habe mich seit mehr als zehn Jahren mit dem Thema Militärarchäologie beschäftigt und war viele Male in der Nähe von Mozhaisk. Und bis heute bewahrt dieses Land unzählige menschliche Tragödien von vor achtzig Jahren. Die Überreste von Soldaten, die mit rostigen Scherben gefüllt sind, hinterlassen ein Leben lang Emotionen.
Der Autor hat es am Ende des Films gut mit der Birke erraten. Dieser Baum ist an unseren Orten sehr verbreitet und wird auch oft mit Waldfunden zum Thema Krieg in Verbindung gebracht. Ich sehe auch, wie er nach vielen, vielen Jahren mit einem Metalldetektor gefunden wird - seine Knöpfe und Nägel an den Schuhen helfen ihm, ihn zu finden und Frieden auf dem Friedhof des Volksbundes zu finden.
So gut gespielt.Geht richtig ans Herz.Ein ergreifender Kurzfilm.

Не согласен с термином "хорошая" сказал бы "сойдёт". Для студентов 2 курса театрального института, актёры не играют, они читают текст, не веришь ни одному их слову. Если бы они выкапали хотя бы один окоп в рост уже лица были бы другие. А так видно что просто пришли, одели форму, сняли, ушли.
Мораль такая: погода в Можайске дождливая, холодная, кормят плохо. Так что лучше на Гоа нападать.

@@СВАТ-ь2ч Hey buddy, speaking as a german to you. Although i don´t speak for the authors of this short. I very much understand your feelings. I myself have mixed feelings too when i see this kind of movies, because they create compassion and understanding for the german soldiers. The same soldiers (speaking generally here, not about individuals) that helped invade russia and commit atrocities and warcrimes in the endevour to systematically eradicate the russians. We all know that the war in russia was, from the very beginning, planned as a Vernichtungskrieg or war of annihilation. Because of that most people naturally don´t like sympathetic cute german soldiers. Who could blame them, although there is a thing to be said about individual and collective guilt, meaning there were decent german soldiers amongst the many guilty.
Alright, now that you know my stance on this, i would like to tell you something else. I have personally seen people who beat up others, who seriously injured others. And they didn´t have compassion or a sense of guilt for their actions, so far as to literally talking about stuff like moms pie, where to get the next beer and so on. People are like that, they are capable of being cruel and at the same time think about mom and her pie, that´s no conondrum and it certainly is not denying that the invasion of russia was a hideous crime. I want to express that the authors of this short movie are not nazi apologists in my opinion. Every soldier in war gets less sensitive to protect himself. Same thing happened when i was working as nurse and witnessed people dying on a weekly basis. So yeah, what is protrayed here is normal. This is not to say that it´s good or moral, but it´s human.
I extend my best wishes to you, may russia and germany have good friendship in the future.

I understand the idea of this video equally with you. But the first thing you should know, the Germans are not the same with the Nazis. Allerdings agieren die 3 im Graben nicht sehr realistisch und damit meine ich nicht die schauspielerische Leistung. Sie agieren als hätten sie zum ersten Mal ein Gewehr bzw. Handgranate in der Hand. Sie handeln gerade zu panisch und unkontrolliert. Wer aber in diesem / so einem Frontabschnitt liegt ist täglich mit Angriff und Gegenangriff so wie solchen Scharmützeln konfrontiert.
