The stock mount is tied to the a cavity in front of the battery box (under the ECU). Tank has to come off to get to that. Body panels need to come off to get the tank off so it just snowballs. Once that bracket in front of the battery box is out it needs to be flipped over because the GSXR shock is a little shorter. Once you do that there is no support for where those bolt were positioned. That norton Kit comes with extra brackets to now serve that purpose. I have seen people skip the norton brakets. Not sure if that leads to cracking or not. the norton kit has complete instructions for this mod that that can really help keep things straight. I have a track day in 2 days and am thinking of doing this and skipping the norton bracket. The more sensible side of me say to try the track day stock first as that stock shock is actually very good
How do you loosen/tighten the collars on the gsxr shock? I can’t get it to shorten by the 1 mm or so that it’s currently too long for…driving me insane
2011-2022 GSXR shock I do believe. Riding wise it’ll immediately feel more responsive and flicky due to being a half inch or so higher, that alone has made the bike vastly better As for rebound and compression, it’s enough to get the job done and definitely a leap and jump from stock but I have rebound maxed out to get the rear wheel to snap to the road like glue
Confused why did he needed to dismantle the entire top end to get to the shock?
