I’ve always been a big fan of Danny Ricciardo and liked Sergio Perez (when he wasn’t trying to kill his teammate Jenson Button). Since DR’s return to the grid he’s had some moments that left me thinking he’s back, but a good few of his performances have been nothing short of woeful. Witnessing him go through these low points has been such a difficult watch. I will say though, that as far as the senior team go, I honestly believe he still has something to offer and I hope he get’s the opportunity to show the doubters.
Sergio Perez? I don’t know what to say. He looks and speaks like a defeated man and I don’t think deep down he actually believes he can recover from the place he finds himself in. It’s now two seasons running. The only theory I can come up with for where it’s going wrong for him, is it’s in his head and I don’t think he knows quite how to get it out of there.
Liam Lawson on the other hand has shown he has the talent and the speed (apart you yesterday it appears) deserving of a top drive but to put him in a car for half a season, with Max Verstappen, add the pressure of (even a little) expectation and I think they will be making massive mistake. It could actually prove traumatising for him.
The only sensible option is to remove SP and replace him with DR, putting LL in with YS for a year. They may have a chance in the constructors, they may not.
What we will know is can DR still perform at the top level, we know SP can’t. We’ll also have not shattered LL’s confidence and absolutely ruined his chances of a promising career.
What we will never know though, is why the f**k will they not entertain YS in that car? Now that is something truly bizarre.

I've always like Ricciardo as well, if you base decisions on how he is driving now then it is hard to argue that out of Lawson and Tsunoda he may look the weaker option.
However if he nails Hungary and Belgium maybe he can be in the conversation again - I agree like you said he has still something to offer and whether he is here next year is still up to him I feel but sadly lots of people have lost faith.
Thanks for the comment though - I really enjoyed reading it and it was really balanced :-)
      Appreciated and thanks for watching

Ricciardo mite be better suited to be a salesman and concentrate on selling his label of wine.... I hear its quite good..

Ricciardo can be a salesman or a standupper, he´s not cutting it anymore, to me he´s trying to survive until 2026 as a last chance to see if he´s still got it, but this era´s cars have not suited him at all... It´s easy to kick a man when he´s down so as a fan of PER we need to ride the shitstorm but IMO, if he´s having a hard time, other pilots would have it even worse.

Harsh words but yeah I've always liked Danny Ricciardo and if I'm being honest right now it is tough to argue your points.

@@thehotlapshow Just as much as I hate seeing Per fall behind... F1 can be cruel, at the end of the day F1 is so freaking bipolar that Max goes for Mercedes and Danny and Checo become teammates on 2026 but then the problem becomes the power unit... There is nothing but to watch this movie unfold! hang in there!
