Excellent explanation Carly Stoughton. Very good interaction wiht Ivan Pepelnjak, CCIE#1354 Emeritus, Ivan is CCIE Emeritus has been designing and implementing large-scale service provider and enterprise networks as well as teaching and writing books about advanced technologies since 1990. He’s author of several Cisco Press books, prolific blogger and writer, occasional consultant, and author of a series of highly successful webinars.
Dude keeps on asking some question on scenario he will never see. Let the lady finish so the rest get the whole idea, then he asks his detailed question. He should be taking notes for now. This is the type of guy who is so into with the tree and misses the forest.
Carly, Can a firewall be in an EPG? Or It should not be in EPG and traffic just redirect to it by contracts? What should be done if i need to have a Physical ASA in ACI and i dont want contracts but traffic need to transit ASA like traditional way?
+Venkata Dendukuri An EPG either consumes, provides, or consumes and provides a contract. It is an independent policy object associated to EPGs. Yes, they are part of the tenant, and are created under the "Security Policies" folder. Then, you go to the EPG and apply the contract.
Firewalls have to do all sorts of hacks to allow ftp to pass through, doubly so if NAT is involved. I would guess then that the sort of hacks that are needed to pass ftp are outside the capabilities of ACI policies/contracts?
Participants are confused in understanding the concept of the ACI, she could have explained it better as compare to traditional infrastructure policy(Qos,Security,Routing) VS application based policy
And the funniest part is these guys with those macs will only do the provisioning and that too 90 percent implemented by the TAC, later the offshore Indian guys with hp desktops and avaya and bit senior having a cheap quality hp laptop will manage it... And these white guys behave like gods to those Indians...
As always, Ivan's asking valid and practical questions. Great responses as well.

Very good explanations, easy to understand even in 2022.

I just learning ACI and want to hear what contract is, but that dude is asking so many questions just to show how smart is he.
Awesome way explained the Policy Model.. White boarding is way better than flashy marketing slides to understand the concept well.. Thanks !
Congratulation Ing. Carly, excelent preparation to give a practical explanation without a lot of slides in ppt.
Nice idea this ACI from Cisco. but is this really the future???
This is superb, I understood something today 😊
Good explanation ...Thanks Carly .
Great questions and explanation.

Ivan Pepelnjak knows where he is talking about. Good interaction
How awkward would it be if someone didn't have a MacBook in that class
24:15. ThinkPad... She wasn't paying attention because she already knew how to Cisco lol
Very good explanations
Thanks Carly Stoughton for explaining the ACI concepts in a easily understandable way..
Nice charming session.
Great course
carly great presentation very clear explanation and great questions
good and very clear explanation by just using white board.
Carly, Correct me if I am wrong, Can Contracts be part of EPG, I dont think so, Contracts are part pf tenents which can be applied on EPG's.

Yes Airbus has 3 computers like the APIC
Smart Lady. very good

What happened to your right hand?
Good Explanation
Cool explanation..
9 years.. ACI did not work well for many enterprise customers with cloud taking over things 😮
I couldn't concentrate on what she was training about
The awkward part of learning this, is that we learn to use it, the real knowledge lies within, how to create technology that will be used
Anyone else have there jaw drop when she mentioned programming firewalls with the ACI? I'm a noob. But this is next gen stuff, 2 years later.
But I'm sad at the realization I will likely never see this type of hardware while it's still relevant.
perfect .....
I love 💘💗 u trainer ❤😘
Bravo! Make more videos

Good grief that dude needs to chill with the questions.
His questions does help in making u think deeper though.. :)
Me thinks you need to look up who Ivan Pepelnjak is.
He asked great questions.
I'm a beginner and I find that guy's questions excellent.
agreed. really annoying. french dude. sounded like Arnoold. " Let us get to the ACI Now..........."
boring part was the Arnold asking questions that didnt make sense. 3 x APics for redundancy over redundancy and moooo money
The one guy that already knows all the stuff and ask question to see if the woman knows what she's taling about
Sharted looool
