VXLAN EVPN is a good technology to distribute and synchronize the MAC/IP address tables between the switches within the fabric. however since the most of traffics is coming from virtual machines in virtual network, there should be a mechanism for communication between the switches and virtual network controller (Neutron or Vmware NSX). normally in other vendors this communication is through ovsdb protocol. how is it on Nexus?
Wow! I recognize a lot of the bigshots of networking in the participants. Ethan Banks, Greg Ferro, Terry Slattery, Jordan Martin... etc. Do you have an attendee list?
[19:00] Unfortunately CSR1000v follows the logic of Broadbom Trident II ASIC even though its a virtualized platform but still you can't use it VXLAN gateway to terminate L2 on the box. Or I misunderstood something.
MP-BGP EVPN is utilized in the fabric (between leaves and spines) of ACI. However, it's not something you can configure. It's just built-in to the system. It's also a proprietary customized version of VXLAN with additional fields in-use (taken from the "reserved" section of the original protocol standards). VXLANs can also be extended all the way from outside VMs, through the fabric, and connect with other VMs elsewhere, all of which is configured from the ACI APIC. Whereas, if you're running NXOS, you'll need to manually enable "feature bgp" and configure all your MP-BGP settings/connectivity.

VXLAN EVPN is implemented in ACI ?
