The last few episodes Evan has said things that are so damn relevant to my life right now. I’m not a vet, just an American patriot starting my own company for all the same reasons he explained here. It really hits home to listen to two dudes I respect and admire talk about going through the same damn struggles that I am.

I’ve had 3 fusions Mike, one of which was an ACDF at C5-7, the residual nerve issues might go away, but it might take a long while, up to a couple years even. Remember, the nerve was being impinged for a long time, it takes time for them to heal.
The more painful one was the PLIF, L5-S1, it took longer to heal. That last one was 2015, fast forward to now and I’m 80% pain free. Autumn is the worst, cold and damp is evil, titanium and screws don’t like it. At all.
Good luck, it’s work to recover from.

I got a neck injury working for Fedex, A box came down in the back of a trailer when the manager came over to tell me what door to go to next for the next unload. when it came down it had metal parts in it and nailed me right in the back of the head. And then later that day since I couldn't reach the latch to keep the flap inside the trailer up, and locked into place. It came down on me got hit in the head. My neck nerves are still injured to this day, and I feel tingling and numbness down my back and into my hands. And at times my neck gets so tired I can't hold it up properly and I have to lay down and sleep with it supported until the muscles get the strength back.Later on I got a lower back injury.

I had the same herniated disc C4-5, from riding a zero turn mower at 46!
For a month I couldn't figure out why my left arm, under my shoulder blade & neck hurt bad!
The only relief was to put my arm over my head.
Once I had the MRI, the Doc asked, how I was even walking?
The next day they went through my throat & put in new disc's & fused it & I woke up ready to play!
No pain & I felt great! Left the that afternoon!

I am somewhat new to your podcast and I didnt know you had a connection to Kalispell. My family is from Columbia falls. My grandfather lives and still works in Columbia Falls (literally less than a 20 min drive from Kalispell.) If you have a chance to support a local family please stop buy Anderbergs garden on Middle Rd. Hes a tetired forrest service firefighter. We lost my grandma a year ago and he still is tending to the garden. We had her celebration of life in August and the whole ceremony was standing room only. It was absolutely beautiful to see how truly loved she was. Please support his farm, he worked in the forest service for over 40 years and he did it while still running the fruit and vegetable stand and his farm with my grandma, and their 3 boys (my dad and two uncles).
Thank you for dedicated service and your commitment to continue servicing the American people but in different ways.

I worked as a respiratory therapist (HM2) at MCAGCC 29 palms from 2003-2006.. i saw a bunch of guys comming back from Deps from all our units including 7th Marines, and i began studying why a staff seargent of 16 years would all of a sudden becomming back from a 7-12mo deployment and developing asthma and bronchiolitis (only in the short term i saw in my time there). In 2005 i was told to cease and desist my study by the Army (i was only doing a questionare and doing pre deployment and post deployment pulmonary function test). The "PACT" act fixed some of those issues but too little too late! Some of us saw and coult tell shit was questionable. I later deployed to so iraq & kuwait doing medevacs for 11mo during the 11 draw down... and i developed pneumonia (had it for 4 months, and subsequently asthma and chronic bronchitis). Never smoked and only occasionally drank. "Developing" asthma after having had zero issues as a marine or navy assigned with marines, .. i develop asthma as a 33 yearold O1E doing an army IA... people dont get asthma in their 30s without some serious insult to their body!

    • @awdrpepper
      @awdrpepper 10 месяцев назад +6

A complete list of confirmed deaths is published by the Gaza Health Ministry (yes part of the administrative arm of the Hamas Government). Every birth is also registered, and so these deaths can be easily criss referenced with the known population. More to the point, Gaza's published figures have historically been fairly accurate, and in-line with international humanitarian organisations on the ground in Gaza, including the United Nations and Amensty International. Of course, after every major incident there is going to be inaccuracies in reporting, and only after the dust has settled will more precise figures emerge.
Regarding this hospital incident, I believe the "500" killed figure was merely a preliminary figure. The airstrike took place at night after all. The hospital in question is actually a large compound. The carpark was in the center. And is was known that thousands of people were sheltering inside the hospital grounds, since Israel had levelled so many apartment buildings. So it is easily plausible that ~500 people could have been killed, depending on the weapon used. I don't know if there is a more accurate figure to go by.
Regardless, I think the shock and outrage expressed even by the corrupt media, is a reflection of the barbarity of the IDFs actions. The fact that Israel is using 2000lbs bombs to hit hospitals and Refuge Camps in the 21st century is something that we have not seen for a very long time. That coupled with the language being used by Israeli officials which can only be described as demonic has only amplified the outrage.
Even when the US was droning weddings in Afganistan, you never saw this level of disregard for civilian life. One of the worst attacks of the war was the attack on the Kunduz hospital which was being operated by Doctors Without Borders. Some moron got his wires crossed and decided the hospital was being used by militants and ordered a strike by an American gunship. 40 odd people died, but the hospital was not flattened. Israel isn't using missiles to target militants. They are using massive guided bombs to level Gaza's civilian infrastructure, and they hope to destroy as many civilians as they can, knowing that they will never be held to account.

Y’all really need to work on the audio guys. If I put it on my truck speaker it’s fine, or ear phones, but I can’t hear you if I’m trying to multitask. This podcast is the most quiet podcast by a LOT. You’re millionaires, fix it

1:29. I couldn’t agree more Evan and Mike. Why aren’t the “higher ups” talking and discussing what you guys are? I listen to this podcast and others to get the “street level view of what’s going on”. I would much rather listen to Evan talk about coffee and coffee roasting but I feel like I have to come to podcast to get the real truth. Keep up the good work guy👊👊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

The black mold isn’t just a thing for barracks either. Two of my houses (Navy housing) in Hawaii had black mold all throughout the HVAC. Even my fucking dogs had a cough from it, and I had to raise hell just to get someone to come out and check it and clean it out.

Mike their faith is more important than any friends, There are several forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted under certain circumstances, the best known being taqiyya (the Shia name). These circumstances are typically those that advance the cause of Islam - in some cases by gaining the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.

What we haven’t been told, what hasn’t been made clear to US citizens is that as soon as ww2 ended, ww3 began. It lasted right up to the day that Russia invaded Ukraine most recently. That was the beginning of ww4. The rand corp and trilateral commission haven’t explained that to the less enlightened knuckle dragging great apes. Here’s the thing; each war that has been fought in the interim, since ww2, has been a police action. There’s no winning, only suppression. It’s the same reason we have 860+ military bases all over the world. They are police stations, or fobs. There will be another great powers war, and that will be ww5. It will be called WW3, but it is actually the 5th great powers war. Ww3, as I have explained, was a series of police actions, designed to perpetuate the peace that we won, as well as the global hegemony we garnered, post ww2. Look at how complacent people have become here in America. Because the wars haven’t hit them personally, it’s not a big deal. Yet, they’re the first ones to thank you for your service. And we’re the first ones to feel awkward about it. Also, in the present era, most service member suicides ever, which is what Tom satterly’s organization is about. Ww2 was a war where people understood their direct connection to it even if they didn’t serve. They didn’t spit on troops coming home like after Vietnam. When we entered, we knew what was at stake. But now, everyone is so full of themselves. They want their piece and fuck every body else. Well, that’s not how it works. Why aren’t both of you generals? Why didn’t you have that level of passion to serve this nation? Instead, you wanted to be “businessman”. Good for you. But that’s the root of the problem. All the people that are supposed to be deeply passionate about our nation, those that bled, killed, and did unspeakable things for the country, you all quit. Just like me. It’s a shame, but whereas you all are grasping at straws, my mind is clear. I understand my mistake and I understand how to fix it. It’s about LDRSHIP… it’s about army values and faith in a higher power. It’s about being lifelong learners. It’s about being humble and knowing when you made a mistake, owning that mistake, and correcting your course. That was the ultimate lesson, and for so many that went to the highest levels, or the darkest depths, it’s a thing like, “I gave so much, I deserve more!” You have to let that go. Your country called on you to serve and that service didn’t end when you decided you were owed, in fact, that was when you needed to drink water and drive on to complete the mission, which is to give your life so that others may live, to liberate the oppressed. It’s not for the weak or faint hearted. Remember? The only easy day was yesterday. I mean shit, you got cancer later? Wouldn’t it have been better to go out in a hail of bullets protecting your countrymen? It’s a goddam shame what’s happened to this country but it’s our fault. We’re the Americans who can change it. It’s on us. Don’t worry about the generals and the rich nitwits, they command, we lead. And if their commands are unethical, there’s a process to address that. But we have to stop being a mopey, me first society that points the finger. That pride starts with us. Are you proud to be an American? Do you love your country? Would you rather live somewhere else? Boy, you better act like you love it here. Fake it till you make it if you have to, because this is the best goddam place on earth. We’ve done more for liberties and freedoms and democracy for the common man than any other country ever in the history of man. It’s that simple, and if we fall, all liberal democracy falls behind us.

We should not be so naive when we sign up and enlist, while we’re in or after we get out. Stop. You signed up to serve. That’s the accountability. You swore an oath to fight, kill and die. Do not feel bad for yourself, me or anyone else for having lived the dream. Go read the NCO manual. Officers command and NCOs lead. Stop. I respect the hell out of you guys, and you’re heroes. Don’t ruin that.

One of these podcasts with a military background should interview average, Joe soldiers, veterans just to show how much we can have fun and be idiots and still get the job done. I know a guy that has a combat wack while he was pulling security on top of a house in Iraq , he was pulling alright. Get like four guys that served together so they could tell there stories and check each other on the facts.
