Honest. I don’t necessarily like crescent wrenches, however quite contrary to the previous statement, my favorite tool in my arsenal is a vice grip crescent wrench. You adjust it to the right size, then squeeze it down and it holds onto whatever you put it on. Friggan genius.
@Infinite Shoeblack 😆the dude has more knowledge about tools 🔧/ being a mechanic than you have pissy comments, maby u should have done some research before u started typing
They got us on that ..it may not have a practical use but I bet now seeing this video if I see one in the store ...and it's not high price ...I'ma get it just to see what I can use it for ....
I keep a 1/2-13 tap in it to chase paint out of threads on a custom double miter saw we sometimes make for picture, door, window frame companies. Never used it on anything else but it works good for that.
Crescent make some pretty handy tools to be fair I've got a ratchet set with pass thru sockets that work on all sorts of sizes, types, and if it's rounded off or not. Only use it when I really need it. Great For shock absorber top mounts when you need a socket to hold the nut and an Allen key down the middle to stop the shocks shaft from spinning while you tighten.
They are HANDY when NEEDEDS! WING NUTS, EYE-BOLTS Square Nuts also. Many other ODD Fasteners Uses. They come in a couple sizes. DeWalt made something similar, in a Two-Paxx. I thinxx? Mine was purchased at TSC. Happy New Year to All!
Those dogbone wrenches with multiple sizes work wonders on drain plugs. Since I can't remember what size to bring under each car, it takes the guess work out :)
And here ive been welding 10mm heads on to them pesky star bolts. Hell yea now imma have to go get me another tool , it will cut my labor in half im sure. Thanks BROTHER
Not sure what all else uses them, but my first run in with triple squares was with a vw jetta and man I tell you what, the hell I had to go through to find them 😂
@@Derbydriver8H the only time ive seen them tbh, is on german cars. Trust the germans to use an almost torx bolt that rusts out even easier than both torx and hex.
I've got one of those! Bought it at the same time as your Pops, was priced so low I couldn't pass on it. I may have used it once... It's pretty much one of those task-specific tools, only I haven't found it yet! A wing nut would be one use... 😜 I bought it @ Ace Hardware, they had them in a little white pail by the check stand- 10 years ago.
You know what, a wing nut would actually be a good use case for this, no idea when id run into a recessed wing nut where pliers wouldn't work but im sure there are a few out there and this would be perfect for them
I love the comments telling you it's a torx bolt. Like you haven't seen one before. They've only been using them for at least 25+ years. My 96 Buick Roadmaster sedan has torx fender bolts. And I'm sure German cars were using them long before that
Make fun of it all you want, but it's still an effective tool. I've got one that I use periodically. It'll act like an actual wrench better than pliers or channel locks.
It's made by Crescent, the name molded into the grip. There is no other identifying marks, or numbers on the tool steel. It was the name that prompted me to buy mine, that and the price. I just looked at it for you.
How have you not seen a torx bolt? Most of the bolts in my car are torx bolts and it's infuriating because each time I repair something I have to buy a size I didn't have before
it's scary yet unsurprising that so many people actually think he's never seen a Torx before.
lol i know right
I call them Jewish screws

Hi what is it called?
I like seeing these special needs videos. it's awesome to see the differently abled doing things.
I bought one to use on a street water valve - worked great
😅

Looks like something I could actually use in the body shop. There's been some stubborn fasteners in odd places that this might actually work on
Have you tried the dewalt 90° bit driver? They also make a 45 Or 60, can't remember
Looks like some crap my wife would buy me. Finally told her I got every tool I need.
Thanks Dad, this bugger fits EVERYTHING!!!
Just hacksaw a slot in them there star thingys and use a screwdriver with a wrench on the screwdriver!
Yuppers, just use a Dremel and slot that sucker!
Is that a metric or standard adjustable?
Yes.
I keep a 1/2-13 tap in it to chase paint out of threads on a custom double miter saw we sometimes make for picture, door, window frame companies.
Never used it on anything else but it works good for that.
I bet in the rust belt that wrench is amazing
It’s a wingnut ratchet, we use them for quickly taking off latter standoffs and hooks
I have one of those too. Maybe used it once?. Looks neat hanging up next to all my wrenches though.

It's a joke tom, pipe down.
I literally have the same one in my truck, that I got for Christmas to. 🤣🤣. But it's a good wrench, hasn't failed me yet.
You've got to love those gimmicky tool gifts from family. Even more so when they ask you why you're not using it.
Every year I get at least one and they are rarely useful.

That would be interesting to see
You had me in the first half😂😂
Good tool = good work.
I bought one of these a few years ago for the sole purpose of doing odds and ends like eyelets, hooks, wing nuts etc, great for them.
I found one of those someone threw away. I found it comes in handy loosening or tightening bugs on 55 gallon barrels.
Naptown Tuner would lose his mind if he ever came across a triple-square😂😂

It's scary that there's a possibility that this video is true and there's people like that in the world
Man never seen a torx it proper tool.. it might come handy for soibut the right tool does the job everytime..
I usually weld a bolt to the top of those things. Those star things are like a French hex or something ;)
The new adjustable nut rounder 9001 I see.. I stay to my old school nut rounders for when I wanna hate myself later
Righty tighty lefty loosey wow is this guy just fall out of planet Jupiter
I love adjustable wrenches I got 4 different types
That star shape inside is for a
Allen wrench,will take it off!
What is the actual name of the wrench or maybe a link please? I need to make things really tight lol.

“Star bolt”😂
Hi! From Dominican republic 🇩🇴
Can you please tell me the name of that tool and where I can get it. thank you.
Micah from red dead redemption 2 is still alive 😂😂😂😂
Their locking crescent wrench is a niche tool that's saved my bacon multiple times.
Just a Trox head, usually they have screwdrivers for those but theirs bit heads and a attachment you can put on a mini bar
Never seen this tool. Please post link or give name of tool. Thanks
That's probably the worst tool I own but I use it to hold taps so I can just ratchet it. Works really well and haven't broken a tap yet.
Tools from dad are the best💪🏼
sir, please get a set of Torx screwdrivers
Seems like a good concept for an emergency tool if it had thinner walls and a locking feature
Damn jeeps and their torx bolts
Very good what's brand
That's better then that dang gator grip socket lol
Guys. He’s working on a VW. of course he’s seen torx before.
Naptown? As in Indianapolis? I’m in greenwood 🙌
LOL! “That really weird looking bolt”. You mean that Torx head screw? WTF?!
I would think every mechanic ever has said "why don't somebody invent an adjustable socket wrench".
I don't think any mechanic ever has wanted such a thing lol
It actually looks neat:)
My dad got me the same tool, I have no clue how it works, its still in the package.
Those round bolts with a star inside really.....Torqx me off.

Hex head? It's torx, hex often work in them but that's not the correct thing to use.
