I am a South Africa & was chatting to a New Zealand friend living in Cape Town yesterday afternoon about the possible outcome & I said quite frankly I think NZ will win as they have been fooling us all in this world CUP & would not surprise if they don't win the Cup! The NZ recovery from the start of the the Tournament has been just too remarkable for my liking!

There was no recovery. The last game they played that actually meant anything, was in Auckland 2 months ago, when they beat SA in the Rugby Championship decider. Only fools thought the Twickenham friendly, and the France dead rubber actually meant anything. They didn’t even open the playbook, everything was saved for the WC QF.

I really did not think the AB‘s had enough in the forwards to match Ireland. I am very happy to be completely and utterly mistaken. The AB pack fronted up big time and I have not seen such consistent and disciplined physicality from an AB side i. A long time. Ireland were not poor by any stretch but I think the AB aggression at the breakdowns made them lose shape at inopportune moments. Both sides putting 30+ phases with no penalties? Unbelievable.
And credit to Wayne Barnes, he took himself out of the match and let the boys play. Really good performance.

As a Kiwi the last few years have been confusing, really hard to get a guage on the ABs but about 24 hours before the game I looked at the team sheet and thought, hell there's some talent there. Their body language before the game told a lot, I just felt they had an edge on Ireland somehow as they came onto the field and it felt like that until the end. Incredible game, two bloody great teams, feel for the Irish a bit ... but not too much because that's sport, enjoy the good and suck it up when it's not.

These were my thoughts too. Ireland’s group was tough and you could see in the game yesterday things beginning to splinter ever so slightly - players isolated, small mistakes etc. NZ were formidable and for Ireland to have stayed in contention shows how good a side they are. Another day they’d have won this and had they grounded the ball in that last maul they would have done. Heroic defence by the ABs. As an Ireland fan I’m devastated but it was a near perfect performance from NZ and I had a strong feeling they would show up. Next time, lads.

2 cards, AB’s down to 14 for a quarter of the game, a penalty try against them, no scrum half for 10, yet Ireland still couldn’t get the job done. Golden opportunities presented to them in a quarter final. World number 1 team frankly should have been able to do more and were reduced to simple repeated pick and gos in the end. No variety or change of tactics just throw the kitchen sink... Despite that, what a huge display of determination from the All Blacks. Bought steel, and a rapier and used both. Fantastic defense!

*Only been ranked #1 in the world for 5 minutes. All Blanks have dominated that system 90% of the time since the system was created. No one ever announced the ABs as #1 then, but as soon as another country got it, all of a sudden countries like Cuba or Egypt knew who the #1 ranked rugby team was.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤣🤣 Jealousy looks so ugly.
*There's a reason ABs have won 3 WCs. -NOT cocky
-The pool of talent in NZ is unbelievable.
      -World class home grown coaches.
-Pride for the jersey that dates back over 100yrs.
-The MOST successful sporting team in the history of any sport on earth. The oldest sport/competition is the America's Cup and NZ ain't too bad at that either.😉😛😂
Ireland, your rugby now is really good at the moment ( hope you can sustain it?) but you lost thinking you could just walk over ABs to the final🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️Silly move.
      Maybe NZ v SA final?🇿🇦🇳🇿(hope so?🙏)

He's never been one for speed. He steered the team around expertly. Their linebreaks came because he was shovelling the ball on into space. That Hugo Keenan linebreak where Sam Cane nailed him was from a Sexton pass that took out three AB's players and created an overlap. Stoked for our boys though we deserved that win

The ABs are rugby royalty and Ireland disrespected them and got taught a lesson. You don’t win the RWC based on your rankings (From a Bok supporter)

All Blacks victory was titanic. Before the match I read an interview with Connor Murray who correctly predicted that no one should ever under-estimate the ABs, they can come out more dangerous than ever at all times!

A great game, either side could have and deserved to win but nah!
The greatest game of NZ Rugby in recent times was when the Black Ferns defeated the English Roses to win the 2022 Women's World Cup in NZ. That was a truly magnificent performance, underdogs and overpowered but pride, skills and determination unbelievably won the day!

The Allblacks played the game they needed to play to beat Ireland.
If they were going to win, Sexton had to be at his very best, he wasn’t.
Although he had plenty to work with, what really came from it.
    Underdogs???
Bring it on, performances such as this are what we are all about in NZ , this was the game we have been waiting to see from our Allblacks…

World rankings didn’t count in this game. The number one ranked team once again failed to get past the quarterfinal stage.
    Well done though Ireland.
The All Blacks have arrived now in this tournament.Repelled
37 phases, yellow cards and need to regroup and refresh in a quick 6 day turnaround.
Huge performance from both teams, sport can be cruel at times and today the better team won … deservedly.
