Thank you for sharing this pruning video. I’ve had trouble finding instruction on heavy pruning for a mature plant until now. After neglecting my dragon fruit for way too long, here in San Diego, I went out yesterday to severely cut back its unruly, prickly branches. Lo and behold, there were 6 flowers, in various stages, for the first time in the 3 years I’ve been growing it! Then this morning I awoke to a massive white bloom. I fed it with liquid and granular fertilizer. Hopefully they will keep on coming. I will hand pollinate and freeze some pollen for later use. Thanks again for sharing.

    Did it promote flower growth?

Pruning and or tipping will generally promote flower growth when down from May to September in our experience.

If plant has lots of old stems and max out the space, would you just leave them and remove young growth? Want to see how to prune plants that are like 5+ year old
