2024 Adult Championships Silver I Emotional Performance - Stephanie Hao

Placed 3/10. My final Silver I Emo was inspired by baby laundry. Every time I put away my daughter's teeny tiny clothes for the last time and put a new size in their place, I cried, thinking about her getting bigger and more independent. To me, the goal of parenting is to raise your child so that one day, eventually, she will step fully into her own personhood and leave you. So I decided to use the music from Pixar's "Bao" short (already such a tearjerker!) + my built-in-baby bump prop, to tell the story of my love for both my 2.5 year old daughter and her incoming little brother, and everything I dream of for their futures.
