This video was made a few hours before patch 1.07. Few things changed - flaming strike, sacred blade ash now does +95 damage (lightning slash is still +85 , all now last 40 seconds) - cragblade now does more posture damage (not sure how much more) - seppuku bleed effectiveness has decreased and receive more damage (pretty average option now) - chilling mist, poisonous mist now last 40 seconds
Wait, didn't lightning slash also get a damage buff? In the patch notes it says "Increased duration and attack power that grants the weapon a lightning attribute", exactly as it says about the other ashes
2:13 Erdtree Seal scaling is weird, it only starts beating the Godslayers in incant scaling somewhere beyond 65 faith It's meant to be used once you invest heavily into faith
its already viable with beastman's cleaver, 81 phy reduction and 62 guardboost when maxed wihtout the shield talisman, also i reccomend u play it on a heavy infusion cause if u will be mainly playing this as a twohanded weapon u get some extra value
Spell buffs work by giving .75 damage of your Incant scaling on your seal but by only the faith portion of the incant scaling. Since Erdtree seal only gets a higher incant scaling than say gravel stone at like 65 faith it’s going to provide a worse spell buff AR despite its superior faith scaling. While golden order seal may have way more incant scaling at 40int/40faith then the Erdtree seal since the buff only works on the faith portion it’s only providing 156 dmg instead of 237.75 if spell buffs worked on purely just incant scaling hope that clears stuff up ERDTREE SEAL IS NOT BUGGED
The Erdtree Seal is not bugged. The scaling itself is better than Godslayer Seal but the baseline incantation value is lower. Up to around 68 Faith the Godslayer Seal is superior to the Erdtree Seal which becomes the best seal above this value. So only use the Erdtree Seal for very high Faith investment of 70 or higher. Edit: The same goes for the Carian Regal Scepter for sorceries. It only becomes the best general Glintstone Staff at very high intelligence (70+) investments.
You forgot Sacred Order which is the reason I came here. I think it is sleeper OP. While it is a weapon buff, it behaves as a body buff. You can completely remove the weapon that used the skill and still you will keep the buff. It is flat 10% damage buff to all sources, even casting spells. It does stack with Golden Vow or Shared Order It does stack with FGMS The main reason to use it would be Power stance anything but straight swords would be very strong. Seems overlooked and easily abusable but I understand it still only 2.5% in PVP so people are not going to go out of their way for it. Would LOVE to see a video on Sacred Order / Shared Order. Thank you. Love your videos
The Erdtree Seal doesn’t scale better until Over like 60 faith. It’s like the Acadian Regal Staff with intelligence. It also doesn’t scale better over like 65+ intelligence
5:37 buffs are best used when the weapon already has that damage type to it for example, using flaming strike on an already fire/flame infused weapon , using sacred blade on a sacred infused weapon etc. This is because of how split damage and defense negation works in these games. For e.g. if an enemy has 180 lightning defense and your buff adds 168 lightning damage then it will do piss poor extra damage but if it added let's say 190 or 200 lightning damage then it will be much much better. Not that you shouldn't use buffs on normal weapons, especially at good stat levels electrify armament and scholar's armament on a purely physical weapon will be really good.
Just tested out chilling mist after patch 1.07. I placed it on a magic clayman harpoon +24 with 69 int and the "swing" animation deals 1.2k damage on a Zamor warrior. It alsa has hyper armor during the swing enough to tank omens and banishes knights while only wearing cloth and it also poise breaks enemies like Zamor warrior. I'm pretty sure its not the frost proc because that happens after wards.
it really really really.... bothers me that blood flame blade is for non bleed builds. its even more frustrating because you can just apply t to a katana and its just as effective as an occult seppuku. it only bleeds slightly less. WITH ZERO arc investment
Godslayer scales with Strength and Faith and Erdtree only scales with Faith. Could it be that the buff benefits from all scaling of the sacred seal and not just faith?
collecting the smith stone bell bearings and giving them to the twin maiden shop will allow to buy smithing stones 1 through 8 and for the final upgrade you'll need to collect ancient dragon stones. same thing for weapons that need somber stones, just get the bearings that allow you to buy them at the shop and upgrading weapons becomes much more easier. be sure to farm the giant blood bird for a lot of runes to mass buy smithing stones to cut down on time spent farming
please do that infusion vs buff video! I've wanted to know about that since I started playing.
Agreed

I think the devs have been waiting for you to get a video ready every time, and snipe you with a patch just before you post.

I love how the ashes of war: sacred order and shared order are not even on the list as how forgetable they are.
They buff Flame Strike??, even pre patch it's a combo that delete 80% of opponent HP if connects.
Really?

This. At his level of faith in the video, godslayers just had the 'better S'.
Even higher. It only starts to outscale the Godslayer at 69 faith so if you go for the first softcap at 60, Godslayer is the best choice.
Niche benefit to sacred blade is that it absolutely bodies all of death/death rite birds even without any faith investment.
It would be nice if Cragblade also improved the block of weapons so it would make non-shield block counters a bit more viable.
Damn this would be really cool

Cragblade is insane now, does great posture damage and a pretty decent damage buff for 60 seconds
Too bad Cragblade still looks like a stick of poop.
@@lcyrus7224 only to the dirty minded

Erdtree's Seal is for high faith 80 and up
Godslayer's Seal is for low faith 70 and lower
Black flame blade can also be cast almost immediately after any action. Similar to to drawstring greases. Great guide brotha. 🤙🏼
Chilling mist can be put on of frost infusion weapon for instant frostbite
Thank you I’ve been looking for this explanation of the buffs
did the actual build up of spell-buffs actually go up; to match the farmable greases? I've yet to get a chance to test them lol
Amazing video! Very in depth. Subscribed.
so the exploit with fire deadly sin is still there, fkn great xd
Pretty useful info in here. Thanks!
Here right after the patch video lesgoo.🔥
Love to see a parry guide of some sort

You forgot flaming strike and sacred blade
What about Vyke's thunderbolt? It gives a red lightning buff to your weapon right?
So for incantation buffs I would need 40 faith then I can pump the rest of my stats into vig and dex?
Please note that this is only for low levels.
the only difference ive seen is bleed. like i dont even see a damage number increase on my weapons.
using bloodflame blade and flame grant me strength combo-does it matter which one you do first?
It does not. Flame Grant Me Strength and Bloodflame Blade are different types of buffs and therefore stack.
Soo is it better to 2 hand a weapon now for status build up or is dual wield still the better option
Dual-wield is still the best and fastest way to apply status effects
@@envoyofrot7046 thank you!
300ish hours and I thought drawstring greases were just for bows
Oh dang, you're saying grease and not grace. Confused me for a bit

The str scale is for the seal melee
Nice vid
My Early game ot was tte Order's Blade I loved it.
What about Vyke's Dragonbolt isn't that a Buff?
ruinous ghostflame?
RIP Seppeku
Wow how did you get all your stuff to +25

He's either on a very high ng+ or he got someone to drop it for him
