    no bronco will ever be a car you can stop to get gas with and not have people wanting to talk to you about it. the people who returned their broncos for that reason are silly, people would want to talk to you about your bronco even if you were driving a beat up rusted out bronco.

      In High School I was working on a friend's '73 that we had tricked out with Bill Stroppe accessories and the top was off (summer, both tops, mine and broncos) and when I stopped at the light there was a car behind me that as I was turning one of them called out the other girl's phone number saying she wanted me to call her! It was fun but they were a little too young... now too old... strange ;-) kidding

      Tanner you are so right! I have a '69 rust bucket that I drive regularly on weekends, no top, no doors, and I get all kinds of thumbs up and questions/comments about it. That's why I'm determined to make it mechanically perfect while driving it with a rotten body, THEN restoring the body, so I can maximize the fun quotient!

    • @Tanner731
      @Tanner731 6 лет назад +2

      you will get plenty of attention for having a first gen bronco, doesnt matter what it looks like. I think the people who bought them not knowing how much attention theyd get are sorta dumb or maybe just not car people

    • @stevenp3176
      @stevenp3176 5 лет назад

      Tanner No one buys one of these regardless of build or condition being surprised by the attention. The price alone of any example keeps one who doesn’t get it from buying one. The naive act is just a act in my opinion.

    Why is Ford not coming to you to design the new Bronco!!! My Dad had a 1970 Bronco which was used as a hunting and fishing vehicle. This old school takes me back to being a kid. My first vehicle was a Bronco II . I would love to have one of yours, maybe I will win the lotto and come see you!! Keep up the great work and I love watching your videos.

  • @malcolmjohnst

    My best friend from grade school on was given a new 1973 Bronco and he and I added all the cool Bill Strope "Baha 1000" accesories, swing away rear tire/jerry can carrier, cut fenders w/fiberglass mud skirts, roll bar, front cow-catcher, bumper mounted large fog lamps, roof mounted lights, repaired/repainted bright orange after fixing body/roof roll-over (Christmas break late 70's). Remembering really wishing I had the $700 he sold it for to get a more practical Toyota truck for college.
    Heck, a couple years ago I got a co-worker to buy a '74 Pantera instead of a new car (although at the time I thought he overpaid at $20K, but now they are up above $100K!)... glad he's happy!

    I've really dug this style. Ever since you guys built the first blue old school bronco a couple of years back. I liked it so much that I decided to take some ideas from you guys and apply them to my Bronco... I really wish ford would start reproducing them 66/67 galaxy dog dish hubcaps you were initially using.

      A medium or darkish green with maybe lighter green (almost white?) wheels and trim? Classic woodsy hunter cabin camping look. Maybe some wood trim on the interior? Teak floors? Take a modern Yeti cooler and hide it in a wicker picnic basket case, fishing rod holders and throw a wooden canoe on the roof for good measure...

    Hi Jonathan,
    I'm quite curious about the polyurea coating you use. I noticed you've said a few times that you use it as sound deadening. What kind of sound abatement do you typically see using polyurea? I'm sure coating thickness plays a role, but I wouldn't ask how thick you lay it on, trade secret and all. Love your passion and attention to every detail, hopefully one day I will be able to afford a derelict by you, but until then, your builds inspire me to do better work. Thanks for your time sir!

    Love It. but now you really need to design an "old school" stamped steel kind of center console. Perhaps painted a mix of white and body color with some vinyl / material padding on it. Your normal "gun case" unit looks way out of place in it. I continue to love your geeked out takes on most components.

Hey all your restored Broncos are nice especially the dark blue one (BR#52) with the very nice leather blue interior … Personally, I think that one was your best bronco! I would buy a raffle ticket on it. Ha!

    Jonathan: Similar question to the one I posted on the extra beastly FJ44 video; specifically, does this thing have locking diffs? If I were the customer, I would want them for sure (though I know you are partial to limited slip units on some projects). Super helpful when you let us know either way. For that matter, in cases where there are lockers, it would also be great if you mentioned whether they are air vs electric.

  • @brianhof7599

    I think it a bit of irony that John thinks that people get too much attention from HIS idea of what a Bronco should be (Icon) so he then re-invents his Icon Bronco to be less Icon (or look the same as it did when Ford made it) and then calls it new? You just copied an original Bronco with a different color palette, different Ford engine, and drivetrain and branded it Old School. Nice truck.

  • @fredpearson5204
    @fredpearson5204 5 лет назад

    Beautiful trucks...but your business model is greed in its purest form: the prices are ridiculous. There are lots of brand-new 4X4 vehicles out there for less than six figures-plus...and just as or more capable. I guess there really is a sucker born every minute.

    If you could hide the screws on the lights, that would add to the aesthetic. It's a bit of Chip Foose's approach to retro classics. I hope Ford contacts you when building the new 2020 Bronco.

    I love this one not to over the top the only thing that I do not like and we see it with most trucks and cars these days the central armrest glove box the thing that I like about old cars and trucks is if you park it and someone parks next close to the drivers door you cannot get in to it but old cars you just go around to the other side and get it nothing in the middle so you can just slide over.
