    Listen, as someone who deals with high humidity and heat most of the year (north Carolina aka south United States) any extreme heat you are not used to is BRUTAL. Like it’s irrelevant if “my heat is worse” because I’m used to it. This is my normal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with such extremes. And man. Heat you can’t escape. You can only take off so many clothes and when you’re still hot it’s unbearable. I hope it cools down soon

    • @BookswithEmilyFox
      @BookswithEmilyFox  18 дней назад +6

      We’re definitely not used to it! The same way if you were to experience -30C you’d have a rough time (although I don’t love that either lol)
      Today it finally went down so we’re all good now!

      I agree. Also, for some people, tolerance for heat is low. For example, I have lived in very hot and humid climate all my life in South Asia, and now have moved to Louisiana, but I never got used to this heat. I react badly to it and get extremely red and have all sorts of problems like extreme fatigue and increased heartrate. Hot weather is just not my thing!!

    I've been following you for a very long time and I can attest that this book series wrecked you.
    I know this feeling of reading something so good you don't know what to do afterwards. I hope you're feeling better.

    Bridgerton was such a disappointment I actually think I am not going to watch the next couple seasons. What was that? We were supposed to be rooting for Pen and yet... It was very lazy writing and editing and even colour grading.

      Why did she have smokey eyes??
      Like we’re not watching for historical accuracy but the smokey eyes were too much 😭

    For anyone who has read more of Elena Ferrante. Did you enjoy any of her other books?
    I have read "The lying lifes of adults" and "Troubling love" and they don't have the same magic for me as the series. Maybe I just don't get it. 🫠 Currently reading "The days of abandonmnet", which seems to be better.

    Gurlllllll, we run our Acs at 27 and that too only for few hours coz electricity is too expensive here.
    BTW, 40c is normal for us. We suffer this every year for like 3-4 months

      With the humidity that’s what it was like here… we’re not used to that!
      I’ve always wanted to live somewhere nicer/warmer but humidity would make me reconsider lol
