I also thought that reference was pointless, but I think he’s taking an approach that his tendencies are caused by this monster which lead him to be violent towards her. Trying to make him look bad because he takes drugs which affect his relationship with her. I also think so because he threw in there that he was doing so good with her for that 3 month period when he was sober. 😮💨
Amber drank 2 bottles of a famous Spanish wine per day/night. Also took ecstacy, & did mushrooms. All this yet when Johnny stopped drinking & got off Roxy, she refused to support him by not drinking, etc herself. Unbelievable. Accd to her she wasn’t an alcoholic. Ya, right! Ugh!

He said some things about her in private text messages to various friends out of anger and frustration, but that is different than publicly smearing someone like she has done or actually causing someone physical harm, which I do not believe he has. I can’t believe his legal counsel isn’t objecting to any of this.
I’ll add this - smoking pot, drinking and taking drugs does NOT automatically make someone a physical abuser so the point her lawyer is trying to make is a moot point. JD has openly admitted to his use of all of those things.

Sorry disagree. I was married to a raging alcoholic. They are monsters. The mental screwing was horrific. He wants to blame this part of himself on his traumatic childhood but he of all people has had the monetary resources to receive every kind of therapy possible. He got into a relationship as a addict and they are ticking time bombs, in fact monsters in their active addiction, definitely not a spouse. Not saying she is healthy emotionally but being with an addict brings out a unrelenting anger that she in no doubt will need ptsd therapy treatment before she can again be in any kind of relationship.
On what grounds should they object?
Depps lawyers objecting to the prosecutors cross examination all the time would make Depp look guilty of hiding or covering up his actions and words.
Best to just let that out.

There’s a difference between saying something in confidence to a friend in anger and actually doing something. Johnny never acted on his thoughts and words. Amber did. Case closed.
Trust, me and my boyfriend had big rows, he's really annoyed me, and I've sent similar texts as what Johnny wrote about Amber to people, I have a very dark sense of humour, doesn't mean I'm violent or would actually do it 🤣🤣 I understand Johnny's humour. My boyfriend sees all my texts by the way I don't hide them from him. We are still together, 19 years and counting.
That’s what I was thinking too. I saw the text messages and I don’t particularly agree with things that were said in those messages however at some point in our lives we have texted someone some nasty things about others or to them in frustration. My guess is that he messaged those things after an argument/physical altercation that she perpetuated

The foundation of AH's accusations are just his addiction to substances, she does not have very much more against him than some inferences and some selfies - she took whenever in the bathroom - to persuade the jury that he has been violent to her ! That's why her attorneys are forced to stick to this ridicolous line of accusation to defend her from losing the battle. She really deserve to be exposed for the liar she truly is.
It’s all confusing as to where her attorney was even going with everything. He clearly said he couldn’t be sure about using Xanax or Aderall with Bettany. He never said he didn’t. So then we take the time to get out previous testimony where he says IF he wanted some, he gave it to him. The previous said nothing more than the real time. He proved nothing except he was consistent.

Thats what all lawyers do when they cross examine, its an intimidation tactic to ruffle the witnesses feathers and throw them off. Johnny's lawyers will do the same to Amber.
Also, talking over the witness, enables to jury to hear the lawyer clearly, and therefore the accusation sticks in the mind, and the witnesses answer goes unheard properly. If that makes sense.. The lawyer Is asking the question like it's fact, while the witnesses answer comes across as weak.
This defense lawyer is such a tool! He's too excited about putting these text msgs up......we all know text msgs can easily be taken out of context. All that has been read so far is about anger & frustration regarding their relationship as well as him taking accountability for his part in the ugliness & vowing to work on himself to make it better.....which only proves they were toxic together which leaves a whole lot open....
And Amber was the most toxic one in that relationship, at least Johnny recognize his faults while amber never takes accountability of her abusive ways

All I hear is a man who was helplessly in love with a woman who gaslit him, took advantage of his vulnerable state (and documented those moments- disgusting!) and manipulated him into feeling like he was the problem by over exaggerating his actions while minimizing her own and making everything about her because she is such a narcissist. None of these texts prove he laid a finger on her. He may have acted badly & said some terrible things but there is no mention of physical violence. In fact it shows he took responsibility for his bad behavior and wanted to do anything to make things better
exactly this. all they've proved today is that he used drugs and drank alcohol, which Johnny has already spent the past three days admitting to. Zero proof of him being violent to her. As a former drug addict who has been clean for a little over 3 years now, I have so much sympathy for Johnny right now. It's so awful having your past wreckage put out for the world to see, especially when drug addicts are already so ashamed of things theyve done while using.

Actually, the more he vented in texts indicates to me, that is where all that energy went instead of into her face. "monster" is a pretty well known as a colloquial term for addiction. not only am a recovering addict (been clean off opiates since 2014) but i have also worked as a caseworker in 2 domestic violence shelters ... and I have heard MANY people say "the monster" meaning the urge you feel to get high during addiction, etc. never heard someone use it the way this lawyer is REALLY TRYING to force us to think.

Hope the jury finds out that we’re only seeing Johnny’s texts because he actually submitted his to the court. Unlike Amber, who *ignored the judges order* to submit her phone into evidence.
His were accidentally released by his first lawyers in the UK case. The lawyer that took over that was on the documentary explained that. There’s so much background on this case that was never disclosed in a courtroom. But I was wondering why hers weren’t. So the deal is Depp had the power but it was her that could ignore a judges order? I thought you’re charged with contempt of court if you don’t follow a judges orders

If this is the worst they got on Johnny, it is proof that not only is he NOT an abuser, but that he is an honest, down to earth man that is able to own up to his mistakes. Things could've gone differently, I didn't want any of these" and I think he was not referring to himself it was directed at AH. Comparing this to Heards cross exam is very telling. Depp is just answering the questions honestly and to the best of his knowledge, he doesn’t try to reframe or avoid anything. Amber tried to rephrase every question into something flattering to her before answering.
This is so true!! As someone that watched hers first and then his cross-exam, she is so defensive and tries to avoid any question that makes her look slightly wrong or even human.

They each played their role in displaying their incompatibility. It comes down to this: proof of injury and evidence. It is quite clear that she harmed JD physically and it is well documented. The rest are just jumbled texts on her part not really constituting any evidence.

As someone who lives with a narcissist, I can hands down say that just because he has said awful things via texting others does not mean he physically hurt her. I’ve been to the point where I have texted friends saying bad things that I wished upon my significant other, so I get him. She has broken this man… he just wants to clear his name and I pray that justice is served. Hugs and love Johnny!

Johnny later discovered that AH painted nail polish on the tissue. She's a trouble maker. Also, when Johnny was going through the detox process and she wouldnt give it to him his proper meds to help him ride through it, so to try to get some relief he jumped in to a hot shower when the withdrawals were coming on. So you see Amber tortured and was inhumane to Johnny. Amber should be in prison.

This was just too painful to watch. Everything he was going through, addiction then detox. Everything is too much intimate and should’ve been kept that way. Woman literally wanted to burry him down like his name never existed. Like we should only remember him like an addict. My heart breaks. It’s too long. All of the agony is too long. He just wants to get rid of it. To speak up for the first time and leave it behind his back. No one is an angel. Imagine your life being brought up like this. From your childhood traumas to the worst things you’ve been through. This is just so disgusting at what someone is capable of. The defense lawyers were like a hyenas. Getting to make him feel all the pain again and again. Someone who went through detox and rehab doesn’t want actually to hear about it all the time. Dear Lord. I think Johnny will win as long as his attorneys can successfully prove that he wasn't abusive to her, but this trial truly shows that the combination of drugs/alcohol on one side, and an untreated personality disorder of that severity on the other, produces a toxic nightmare of a relationship that should not continue under any circumstance. I wish him continued sobriety (assuming he's now clean and sober), and her the treatment and consequences she needs to understand that she needs mental health treatment.

@@Jeni10 there are no medications but if people are willing to accept their diagnosis sometimes cognitive behavioral therapy can be utilized to help them realize what behaviors are inappropriate and give them ways to correct the behavior into something more socially acceptable. I have a family friend whose young adult son is BPD and once he started CBT his behaviors did improve. His first instincts are still usually pretty bad, but he now has the tools to help him stop before he acts and choose better behaviors. The issue with personality disorders is that most people don't accept the diagnosis or seek help.
