Sick car. Even after a tune would be crazy. For most people this is a great daily driver

Seriously bro, love the review. I was undecided on the E43 but your review won me over. Obviously you want the power but because between me and my mrs, we'll be driving everyday, we want that little bit better fuel economy which this has. Plus you got that 0-60mph in under 4 secs???.......dae-cent!!
Obviously a big price/power/sound difference with the E43 and E63 but i think the E43 has just about everything i need. Enough power to make you smile and the fuel economy. I'll just stick an Armytrix exhaust on and maybe remap it.

My dad has one for almost 3 years now.. And its a really good car! Wish I'll get the chance to have something like that too haha.. People keep saying it's not real amg bla bla..from people who probably never got into one.. Or comparing it to the E63.. Which is so wrong in my opinion cause they aim at different goals and costumers .. The e43/53 is a car that built for using it as a dailydriver with the addition of performance that won't kill your back after half an hour haha.. It can go through corners really nice! And got enough horsepower to put a smile on your face.. And if you want more.. You can always put a chip in there.. The ride is still a little stiff but it's ok to live with...
Unlike the E63.. Which is the real deal.. Its a monster but using it as a dailydriver with your all your family... Mm i wouldn't do it.. Too stiff.. On RUclips all you got is the specs on paper and video.. Without really be in the car and driving it and i think thats why this car not getting the love and appreciation it should get.. If you can afford it and thinking get one of these DO IT - awesome car :)
Nice cars underrated and you get a decent balance of power, looks, fuel economy and sound. E63 for me is an animal no doubt

Nothing beats an AMG best interior ever made
It is good until you jump into an Audi. Mercedes E Class or S class has to be fully loaded. Audi A5/A6+ All have quality interior!

Great looking car however the problem with the 35, 43 & 53 is that they are not really AMGs, they are for people who don’t really understand what they are buying real AMGs have hand built engines which are made in Affalterbach, Germany by one Mercedes engineer who has spent years training before being allowed to assemble them, it is what the brand is renowned for ‘One Man, One Engine’ and this is reflected in the price you pay. The 43 is mass produced in the uk with the engine being built in London yet Mercedes still asks a premium for these cars. Having lived in Germany for 6 years I would regularly visit the Affalterbach plant, on my last visit I asked some of the engineers what their thoughts of these cars were their response was mainly negative and all believed that these cars watered down their efforts.
Yes - facts. It’s an in between car the way I see it for those who want something more than a standard E class with a bit of grunt. The E63 is the real deal in the AMG range!
Thanks to people like you, I've picked up a mint 2017 E43 in Obsidian Black, carbon interior, AMG buckets, etc. for barely more than the cost of a new Civic.
High flow cats, high flow filters, Stage 2 ECU/TCU remap and it's as real an AMG for me as it needs to be, whilst being able to carry my family around in absolute luxury.
Still keeping my M3 as my weekender for the thrills.

@@TRACKSTARRR In excess of 500hp. It's not an easy car to tune though; the first tuner originally got it to 300kw at the wheels (stock was 240kw at wheels), but couldn't get the ECU to boost above 1.1bar without triggering soft limp. With an alternative tune, it now runs much stronger, with 1.4bar boost tapering to 1.0bar and feels even stronger. However havent had it back on the dyno, but probably around 320-330kw at the wheels now.
FYI, the E43 has larger turbos. The mapping shows the volumetric flow of the turbine is 30% higher, which explains why the E43 feels less responsive (not just due to the added weight). Makes sense now as to why the peak torque doesn't arrive until 2500rpm vs 2000rpm in the C43.
But it also means the power potential is higher, and now that it's tuned so well, it really feels very strong.

Sold the car a a couple of months after this review. They are reliable and well built cars. They have come down a lot in price and you want the 2017+ where they have LCD displays

On the highway no doubt. If you drive in Eco mode and control your foot.. yes 👍🏽

Yes you can get this as an option if you look around it’s a button situated where the dynamic switch is 👍🏽

anyways i own a s65 and a Hennesey Cat got it 2 days ago i'm really enjoying it but any website you know other than auto tempest? i've tried Kijiji i'm not comfortable with the Henessey way to brutal and the MPG is horrific the S65 has a mode which uses half of the engines
