I bought the AS champion several years ago.i can' believe i kept it this long. Next week i will finally get a new one: it will not be AS. I think it was one that was recalled or it should have been. But nobody told me it was defective : it had no flushing on back wall of toilet bowl. When crap hit back wall,it stayed there until you brushed it off. Anyway ,my new toilet coming tuesday will be scrutinized intense 7:46 ly for defects. I can't believe AS sold this piece of crap. And i blame Home Depot for selling it and not knowing it was defective.
I hate American standard they need a recall on these toilets, I don’t have a thumb screw, cover dose not want to twist off, you need to replace valve seal each year
Mine has a wider chamber around the flush valve making it difficult to get to the screws. The fluidmaster replacement bolts are thicker and hard to get in at an angle. The large rubber washers don't help.
My home has two of them that work flawlessly and have reduced my water usage by a significant amount. Most people that bash AS expect them to work like their 35 year old toilets of the past, not going to happen. They work on a different technology altogether. Add to that the lifetime warranty HouseBarons explained along with good customer support he got from them. What other manufacture is doing that? Perhaps you have an installation problem.
@@reggiepotts3437 Imagine that you are a piece of poop. What would be easier for you to do, slide down a pipe 2 feet wide or a pipe 4 feet wide. It's NOT the VOLUME of water that matters with the newer toilets it's the TRAP size, which is twice as large as the old standard and can accommodate poop TWICE as large.
Great video, very informative BUT I just called American Standard with all my info and they DO NOT give you the replacement parts! Very disappointing!
Great information. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Mikef2571, glad it was helpful, hope you fixed your leak!
Just wondering why you didn't use a pipe wrench on the big nut
