Thank you for posting this long video , it helps me face my own challenges and know that other people makes mistakes just like I do when I paint. I like how this is shown to audience so that we have a realistic view of what to expect in our artistic journey. It takes effort and time and dedication to succeed in painting.
Wow! What a great tutorial! I’me a beginner watercolorist and I’ve been looking for a class to show me how to do this. I would have gladly paid for this tutorial. 🤩 Thank you so much for taking the time to show us how to do this, walking us step by step through the whole process. I cannot wait to try it! 🎨
OMG 🔥 ! Someone make this video viral ! You put it in a best possible way. Loved it and can't wait to try it ! In so much love with you and your teaching 💙❤️
Thank you!! I agree with others here: yours is the only video which explains not just what you're doing but why you're doing it. You stay with keeping it simple, and beginner at each step, and don't go on tangents like shading of leaves etc, which can come later (and which really are for the sake of making the experts painting look fantastic, and which also defeats the purpose of the teaching video 😂) Thanks so much! A gem of a teaching video. Will try this again! Subscribed 😊
Thank you. So glad you enjoyed it. Yes! It was so hard for me when I was learning as well because there wasn’t anything super easy and clear which is why I made this video. You can always shade your leaves and add details later. The point is to understand the neg painting process. I’m so happy you enjoyed it!
I really appreciate the detail with which you have used to explain this - you have provided a great tutorial, east to follow and you have been very thorough. Thank you very much - your work is really beautiful.
your beautiful artwork and inspiring tutorial makes me wa t to try this technique too! Thank you so much for showing in real time. I really loved it! Blessings! ✨
Wonderful teaching tutorial! I thoroughly enjoyed and learned much. Not too much "chatter" and all explained very well what you were doing and why. Highly recommend!
Excellent demonstration of this technique...very difficult for you to explain, but you did it beautifully! Your patience and concern for your viewers and helpful tips makes this the number one video of this technique that I will refer to again and again and recommend to others! Love the aesthetic colour choices, as well. One question unrelated to painting...loved the background music choice, can you tell us the artist? Very happy you took two hours to film this and hoping you will do many more detailed instructional videos! Thank you again! Bravo! 👏✨⭐
I honestly do not know the name of the song or even how to find out. It was a random song picked from the editor I was using at the time 😬 thanks for the positive comments and for watching :)
Awesome video. Finally I understand how to paint background behind my drawings without getting the blooms which were ruining my ideas! I am definitely going to try this as a way of practicing all the different components I want in my art. Thank you 😊😊😊👏👏👏👏
I'm just going to echo the sentiments of others here 😊 ... thank you so very much for taking the time to share this process. It has helped me immeasurably, & I now understand where I've been slipping up!.. You are a magnificent creature & an utter godsend. So before I head off to excitedly get started on a piece of my own 😉 .... Again I say .. THANK YOU! 🌻 xx
I totally loved my review today as I tried to understand some of my problems. I wondered how you kept the paper so wet through the stages? Also, I got so many "blooms" that they distracted from the next layer. But I'm ready to try again. Just love your detailed instruction.
As for the paper staying wet, I worked in small sections wetting that first then adding colors. On the edges of that before it got a chance to dry, I continued to add water, especially if it was a larger section that took more time. But if you add too much water it can bloom back in so just a damp but not dripping brush works best for that. Keep trying, you’ll get the hang of it :)
Very pretty result. I am just starting out but am in love with it already. This video is very helpful. Thank you. You are very talented and good at explaining it all.
this was one of the most in depth tutorials on negative antng and t seems to make more sense to me and feel have learned so much i created my first layer wash ad will tame this with e to y sketchgrou meet and ractice tes3 techngues you are awesome
Nice Demo with lots of information. Definitely an inside out way of thinking! I'll never forget the first time I was taught it! Shew! You did a better job that the other teacher. :)
Thank you for taking the time to do this video vs speeding it up in 2 mins. Very informative and easy to understand. And I enjoy your pet stories. My lovebirds aren’t allowed in my bedroom where my art supplies are; they love shredding paper too much
Yea i always wish more artists would slow it down step by stel so i can learn as well. Im glad you enjoyed the video! Ooh luckily mine dont shred paper and i wish i could not share my art room with them lol
Thank you so much for taking the time to paint this lovely masterpiece. I have learned so much and feel I can venture out to do this myself! This has been a wonderful experience.
I really learned a lot watching this. I was very attentive, then the music got so relaxing along with the painting that it lulled me to sleep for a hot minute! LOL Definintley following. Thank you. Oh I'm a beginner watercolorist who has been painting with acrylic for years.
Its beautiful.I almost liked it more when it only had a few layers and was misty.I don't know if I have as much patience as you, so I'm thinking"Can I really create this myself"?But I will try.Thank you for demonstrating your process.I really enjoyed it!
So glad you enjoyed it. I did another negative painting with fall leaves and left a lot more open space and love that one. Take your time as well, it doesn’t have to be done in a day. It does take a lot of time, and a lot of watercolor paintings like that do. I tend to enjoy just watching the colors play in a loose style but every now and then I’ll do something like this. No matter what you do just have fun 😎
I love this technique ..Thank you so much for sharing this ..I have never been much on back grounds and when i did they were usually the last thing i did ..But never did i associate it with negative painting and the technique you have showed me in this video is sooo cool ..I have been very busy making hand cut stencils for the last few months. I just use heavy weight poster board and a straight up Exacto blade .This poster board is a step up for me because a lot of my stencils last year were made with cereal boxes lolol .And it occurred to me to make stencils to help me draw the underneath layers starting with the top layers ...
Glad it was informative! I’m sure what you paint will be beautiful and I’d love to see it. If your on Instagram, I’d love it if you could share what you paint so I can see 😍. Thanks for watching!!
This is an awesome instructional video!!! The color selection and color mixing is very well explained. The thoughtfulness of top layer colors was key to understanding how your paintings are top notch. I do have a question, do you add any other details, such as veins, to finish the paintings off? I have seen other negative paintings where the artist added a few more details to add depth and stamens to complete their flowers. I would love to see what you would add to your leaves!! Loved this video! Great job!
I liked this painting as is so I didn’t add anymore. But on others I have but not of I do it in this style. I hope to be able to make more videos in the future but for now I can’t 😬. Thank you for watching and I’m really happy you enjoyed it.
This was fascinating! I want to try following you and do this myself! I loved your careful description. And the colors worked so beautifully! Was there any actual pencil drawing for the last layer? It seemed small twigs appeared between leaves and stems when you applied that final dark layer of Blue/Green/Red ?
Thanks! You should definitely:) For the last layer I think I just drew random twigs and leaves and then used a mix of pthalo blue and Venetian red to get it dark and make things pop. Happy painting 🎨
@@peaceandpaintbrushes Thanks for that last use of color. I hope I can keep your lesson here on my computer. It will be about a week until I begin this marvelous technique. I can't wait!
Amazing tutorial! Very clear, concise and thorough. Thank you SO much for sharing ! Awesome results! 😊🐾🌵
