Awesome video, I will give your favorite methods a shot. The passenger side cv axle came out nice and easy on my Toyota Camry but the driver side is being stubborn.
TRY THIS IF YOUR IN A PINCH! Step 1 Rip the axle out. Step 2 cut the boot off the axle you just removed. Step 3 insert the axle right back into the thing your trying to remove. Step 4 put locking pliers on the thing your trying to remove and lock down the pliers as tight as you can. Step 5 slam the axle back and forth against the locking pliers until it pulls out.
I believe the retaining ring near the end got stuck!! We been hammering away and even pulling with a tie down only to fail each attempt. 😔😔 Almost a week, decided to take to a mechanic shop, and most are booked 😭😭😭😭
In my special case nothing worked 10 Honda Pilot passenger side exhaust is in the way. And I even used a come along with little axes for an air chisel and hammer and rotation methods nothing works. I think next is chopping and exhaust all getting a better angle to hit it. And last solution is to Bern it.
Great video. My little Ford Focus is a maze of metal under the axel seal that doesn’t allow for the slightest bit of leverage. Spent hours trying to remove it today and end CHIPPING THE TRANSMISSION CASING… luckily not damaging the thing other than aesthetically. I may have to take it in tomorrow. I probably destroyed the seal but cannot even tell because the damn thing never came out. Who designs these things.
I tried everything slide hammer in it I tried prying it with pry bars I've hit it with sledgehammers to try to pop it out it's not coming out so what else is there
@@irisbaez1972 He wasn't responsible lol. I've learned my lesson from doing other repairs. Now I always watch as many videos of a repair as a I can to know what I can do and not get stuck for a week trying to complete the job.
Why isn't one of the methods to screw the axle nut back in a little bit and then just yank on the axle and wheel hub at the same time once it's disconnected from the strut? It seems like that would work. There would be no prying or pounding on the back of it. Once you pop it loose you just unscrew the axle nut.
I had to pull out the passenger cv axle today and boy believe it or not I used a punch tool to knock it did not work. Hit the hell out of it still did work. Picked up my Pittsburgh flat head and pryed it out lol 🤦♂️ Are you Laos bro?

Thanks that method worked on me pulling out my husband's wisdom tooth,!😠
Make sure you check the tires put the vehicle in neutral. Do not turn it on just put it in neutral it will release the CV Axel
Thank you for posting this content!j
I have a good question: after replacing the axle shaft, do I need to do a wheel alignment? no one pays attention to this issue!!! 🤔
Yes, Always good to get one after messing with the axels to make sure your tires are in the right position for tire wear.

A shop would hit you for an hour labor.
At 2:25 what's the name of that tool..I need one for my cv axle?

Axle’s are never slide hammers lol 😂
You will pull apart the cv joint as there is only a clip holding it together
NINE ways
Keep trying. Spray penetrating oil around. Hours working on this. I won’t be defeated.
