I am sold on this after a 30 day trial and have subbed up for a year. If you are actually trying to do the exercises (squat and lunge with proper form) as well as swinging at the targets with full power as they want you too you are getting some great cardio on the hard tracks and great fat burn on the slow tracks. Also, you the game doesn't fail you out of a song, it modifies the difficulty of the song so you can succeed. Additionally, they have new workout mixes everyday with different music mixes and you can have up to 4 profiles on one oculus for the same fee, meaning 4 different customized difficulties. This should really be compared to peloton subscription services or dance fitness classes, as they are in very similar veins. It plays like beat saber if you only put the effort you put into beat saber (I play expert+ and find it being mostly arm movement and occasional squat), but if you push yourself in this game it evolves its difficulty with you.

Supernatural Fitness is more than a Beat Saber "clone". When playing Supernatural, I'm able to break a sweat, get my HR up, and get a good cardio workout. I have gotten results from Supernatural that I've not been able to get from Beat Saber. I have begun to get compliments on my body, and that alone tells me that the programs are working.

And there's a heavy emphasis on form. They walk you through motions and make sure you understand how to do it for the maximum effect, and range of motion used is heavily factored into the final score. Wide sweeps do increase score in Beat Saber, but if you watch the high end players, they're playing mostly with their wrists and elbows, not shoulders. That's a big difference. I LIKE ring fit adventures, it's the most approachable intro to Pilates I've ever encountered, but this is a very different form of exercise. Both are very good at what they do, but they do it differently.

I've played both beat saber and supernatural. I LOVE beat saber! I was skeptical of supernatural at first, but after playing both, supernatural BY FAR gives SUCH a better workout. I was sweating after just 25 minutes on LOW on supernatural. I never really sweat on beat saber, even after an hour on hard. Beat saber doesn't target as many body areas as supernatural. Plus it has it's own social app that's motivating and keeps track of workouts. I haven't paid the $20 yet, just on the trial, but so far I think I'm going to stick with it. Gym memberships can sometimes be just as much as $20 a month and I'm getting to workout at home, have fun, and be motivated by others on the social app. :)

It’s a great game but designed for quick movements with your wrist not full body.

It's so much better than the trailers let on.
Basically it starts like a stripped down turn-based RPG where you pick your ability on your turn (which are fitness moves) and they deal more damage if you perform the exercise well, then you physically brace yourself when enemies attack to reduce their damage. You've got a model on screen, haptic feedback and an NPC giving you tips to tell you how to fix your posture and such. The game sets your difficulty based on age, sex, weight and self-appraised physical ability and allows you to change it whenever you want on a 1 to 20 scale. My family and I all tried the game and my mother (60y-o, no physical activity whatsoever) was set to 2, my father (56y-o athlete) was set to 17 and i (23y-o, average physical activity) was set to 18. We were all satisfied with it, even my mother who has lots of fun with it despite disliking both video games and exercising in general.
Later on, you get more and more actual RPG elements like consumables you can craft (which are smoothie-themed with nutritional facts in the item descriptions), skill trees (which include harder and higher-damage fitness moves, stat increases and passive abilities), and traversal options while running around.
Abilities are color coded based on muscle groups, and different enemies take more damage from certain colors to naturally encourage you to pick different moves and work out your whole body. Moves also have cooldowns which prevent you from hurting yourself by doing too many times the same move in a row.
You take a looong time to unlock all these things however, and it has no story to speak of besides "dragon bad, go stop dragon", so don't expect a full RPG experience, but i don't know any way to exercise that's more fun than this, and this includes Beat Saber.

I bought my Quest 2 because of Beat Saber as I used to really love DDR back in the day. Now I pretty much exclusively use Supernatural. It’s what I want Beat Saber to really be. It definitely takes more than one session to figure out all the nuances of Supernatural and how to enjoy it.
The absolute best part of Supernatural is the interaction between the Community, Coaches and Developers. I have only been part of the community since mid January and have seen things I never would expect. People tag the coaches on FB and ask questions, thank them, or share their fav parts of the workout… and the coaches respond. They comment on posts, answer questions and overall just engage with the community. The developers want to hear feedback and are constantly updating and bringing new features. For some people it was a fear of heights or the size of the platform that was causing issues, so they gave options to make the platform appear bigger. You can also remove the squats. They are also releasing a ton of new boxing workouts along with their regular ones because the boxing is newer and has been a big hit.
Overall, $20 a month may seem like a lot for this; but how many people are still paying for that gym membership you don’t use? This gets used way more than any gym membership I’ve ever had and I am better for it, physically and mentally.

I've been playing Beat Saber for about a year off and on for fitness and it's good, but I feel this better as a fitness tool. In my opinion, Beat Saber is a game first, and exercise is a byproduct of playing it. Supernatural is geared toward exercise first and being entertaining and game like secondary. Yes, it's very similar to Beat Saber in it's objective of hitting bubbles/boxes with virtual bats/batons/swords, but having beautiful nature scenes is a real treat versus the dark "tube" of Beat Saber. It also has elements from Synth Rider as well, with the trails that you hold. The movements seem more focused and deliberate, more purposeful than in Beat Saber. Basically, I feel like it's Beat Saber with purpose. There's definitely a LOT more squatting than in Beat Saber and the combos seem more logical to how your body moves to perform exercises rather than flailing your arms super fast to hit all the boxes. I find with Supernatural, I actually squat and lunge properly more than I do in Beat Saber where I would either just bend over slightly or move my head side to side to avoid the walls. Even though I could most likely do the same with Supernatural, for some reason the way it's presented with the triangles makes me work harder than I do in Beat Saber. Same with the coaching tips of keeping your wrists straight so you move your whole arm versus flicking your wrists to hit the boxes like I've become very proficient at in Beat Saber. They both have merit and are both very enjoyable, but as a fitness tool, I feel Supernatural is better. I still like Beat Saber for some sweaty fun, and when I get into it, I feel more like I'm dancing where in Supernatural, it feels like more of a proper cardio workout.
It's a bit more affordable now than it was, it's still $19.99 per month if you go month to month and $179 a year ($14.92/mo) and the trial is 7 days now. I wouldn't say it's overly expensive, and you can have up to 4 profiles on the account for other people in your household, so $179 per year for 4 people to exercise is actually a pretty good deal versus any gym membership, which we still can't really go to with COVID.

I played Supernatural for the first time on the Oculus Quest today. I had to flip my table over the clear space for the game.
I played 3 "workouts" for about 90 minutes total.
    Like:
    - no fun-killing "Level failed" like in Beat Saber
    - Less focus on pointless high scores and combos, unlike Beat Saber where score and combo are the only thing the interface shows.
    - new first-party content every day,
    - actual backgrounds instead of a Beat Saber neon temple. And some surreal backgrounds.
    - dynamic difficulty adjustment (on some levels).
    - has squats like Beat Saber Fitbeat level. There are a little too many of them.
    - The notes come from really far away and don't spawn right in front of you like half of Beat Saber third-party maps
    Neutral:
    - Lack of wrist movement. Intuitive patterns. I hit 96% of the Supernatural targets. In Beat Saber I hit only 50% on most Expert+. On the hard Beat Saber maps, I only hit 21%. I actually like the wrist movement when its clear how to move my wrists and I still have to move my arms. Not when I'm flustered and confused. Not when I can get away with ONLY wrists. Supernatural should have wrist AND arm movement but it only has arms.
    - The game has In-game heart rate monitoring, but its just monitoring and doesn't affect the game. So buying a heart rate monitor seems kind of pointless unless I really care about correlating my heart rate data with the songs.
    Dislike:
    - I must have played at least 15 songs. Anything that wasn't the rap or Lady Gaga was boring. I want more Monstercat, Porter Robinson and Madeon and electronic dance music in general
    - The volume was too low despite my maxing out the volume on the Oculus Quest. I use the same earphones with both headsets. I'm satisfied with 95% volume on Oculus Rift S, maybe because the songs are just louder.
    - The Oculus Rift S is a much better headset than the Quest because its clearer and the strap is more secure and there's no battery to charge. This game requires the use of an Oculus Quest unncessarily. The 360 doesn't add much to the game. The 360 makes me smack my bedroom wall.
    - According to my Fitbit, my heart rate only reached 105 average BPM across all of (2 "medium" workouts and one "auto intensity" workout). Same as Beat Saber. I wanted it to be higher.
    - The trainer talks too much. Makes me feel like I'm in a sweaty gym instead of a cool Jedi
    - the dynamic difficulty only seems to occur on the "auto intensity" levels, not all the levels.

BOXVR is the best fitness app for the Quest. I use Beat Saber to warm up before boxing. The Ring Fit is nice but different to a VR experience. Ring Fit lets you run; attaching the controller to your leg and running on the spot is so simple but very effective. Running in VR is tricky as it jiggles the headset. The squats you get in BOXVR are not too bad for leg workout. I feel bad that I can't give the BOXVR guys more money as I use it all the time and pay the same as a game that I play only occasionally. Looking at this subscription idea I think it's good but they are pricing it quite high and will struggle to compete with lifetime purchase alternatives.

If they used separate one-time purchase music packs instead of a subscription model, they could make it pretty easy for people to get into. honestly, I feel like I got a better workout out of it than beat saber, since it adjusts to make it just inside your normal range of motion, rather that a set range of motion like beat saber, but everyone's different, so, you do you.

I also enjoy RingFit and Beatsaber, but this is my go-to workout. I sweat way more in Supernatural in either one of those, partly because Supernatural rewards power vs just making contact with targets. The pricing is easy to justify to myself since now I don’t have a gym subscription, and I value the daily new tracks and training. For a pure game I would recommend beatsaber every time, but you get a MUCH better workout with Supernatural. It’s a matter of design really. The puzzle games are decent, but all of the RPGs are action RPGs right now for example. It's going to be nice once we have more variety of stuff to play beyond the niche that VR is currently geared towards.

The price tag is high but Supernatural is frankly a much better workout than Beat Saber so if fitness is your main reason to play a rhythm game then Supernatural is worth looking into. I get more tired and sweaty on even the low intensity Supernatural tracks than I do on the hard songs on Beat Saber. You can see even in this video he is on pretty low intensity stuff with barely any blocks coming, but he is still exhausted at the end. The reason is because Supernatural is carefully designed from the ground up to work out all your muscle groups, but Beat Saber is just flicking your arms quickly at random blocks that no thought was given to the placement of. But if you mostly just want to play a fun game, and fitness is a side benefit, then Beat Saber is better than paying a hefty subscription.

Review: At first I thought this would be just like beat saber with pretty backgrounds and endless talking, but I have been doing the free trial for about a week now and it is a much better workout. While Beat saber is all about the competition, Supernatural is all about the workout. It doesn’t shut you down when you screw up. The trainers are encouraging and cheerful and tell you what to do to make your workout better. The combinations were designed by trainers to work your body in specific ways. Plus I love the music, especially the punk and metal songs. I think beat saber is a super fun game, but unless you have the discipline to be able to transform it into a proper full body workout (there are videos of people doing this), that’s all it is. A game. Supernatural may not be for everyone, but if you feel lost at the gym without a trainer and/or group fitness classes, it is a good at-home alternative. I would personally rather spend money on this than go back to the smelly, crowded, and germ-infested gym. Will probably go ahead and pay the monthly rate till summer and then if I see myself continuing I will get it for the cheaper yearly rate. I tend to abandon indoor things once the weather gets nice. We’ll see.

yeah, no. if you want something like Beat Saber to work out, just play Beat Saber. I think the YUR Fitness Discord still has weekly playlists that have tracks that are handpicked for having a lot of movement for working out. If you want a game that's a bit different from Beat Saber, a bit more workout focused, get BOXVR. $30, one time purchase, the tracks made for the game are actually surprisingly good and it lets you import your own songs that the game then generates a boxing workout around. It's like Beat Saber in that you're hitting blocks to a beat, but instead you're punching balls in different directions. Punches, uppercuts, and hooks that require some force to register a hit so that you break a sweat real fast, plus lunges and squats. And it has coaches like Supernatural. Don't pay $20 a month for a Beat Saber clone with lunges.

If they can cut it in half, and their coaching and data tracking are exceptional (because Beat saber really doesn't have fitness tracking built-in, and the songs are just alright before modding), I could maybe see myself paying $10/month or buying a year pass for $100. Unfortunately, it's not like this app exists in a vacuum chamber. There's also Beat Saber and BoxVR and Audio Shield and Dance Central and more, all of which come in at a far more sensible price.
