Wonderful tutorial and great project. You make the instructions so easy to follow, and don’t assume any steps. Even someone like myself who crocheted for awhile I forget some steps along the way and need more clarification. This had all the tiny details include and done so smoothly. Love it!
I’m so glad you found this tutorial helpful and enjoyed it! Thank you so much! I hope your bag turned out beautiful! 🤗🧶💞
I’ve been struggling to find a good crochet project to do (as a beginner) and this was perfect! What I love about this pattern is I can sit down and watch a show without having to worry about messing up, my hands just kinda know what to do 😂. Strongly recommend this for a beginner. 🩷🩷
I am so happy to hear this!!! It is nice to work on it and just flow! I do the same and can actually watch something while crocheting 😂😂 💞🤗🧶
🎉you're so ✅️ right.Itwas easy and fun.I love simple 😂 even though I knit and crochet all my Life since elementary school in Germany 1th grade. I've just love simple ❤ thank-you 😊
I just wanted to say thank you as this is the easiest tutorial for a market bag on RUclips. And I have searched lots. Very easy to make start with 5 rows Sc and make 40 rows and copy the beginning and few rows of handle Sc and bam you got yourself a market bag. Honestly. Best. One. And easiest to follow. 🏆 from me.
You’re welcome! Thank you so much!! I am so happy to hear this is the easiest one to follow! They work up pretty quick too, so you’ve got one in just a short time, and it doesn’t take all day! 💞🧶🤗

This is the comment that make me try this tutorial out and I absolutely agree! I just finished the bag after working on it the past couple days and my mother loves it! She is super excited to go the farmers market this weekend and show it off.
@@samanthaarmacost134 I love this so much!! Thank you for being so excited and loving this tutorial! I’m so excited for you and your mom, too!! I hope you make many many more 💞🧶🤗😊
I started following another tutorial but yours was easy and your instructions were very clear. Not only did I finish it and came out looking fantastic but I finished it in one day and s half! Thank you!
Amazing!! I am so happy to hear you enjoyed the tutorial! That was fast! A day and a half? Incredible!! 💞🤗🧶
It was very well presented and edited. And I only needed to fast forward to get the next step a couple of times. Very nice tutorial
Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it! 💞🧶🤗
Love this pattern. I’ve made 3 in the last week. So fun so easy!!
Yay!! Isn't it?!?! Kind of "mindless" too so you can actually watch something and pay attention at the same time! 🤣
I can’t wait to make my first market bag!!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent and your work!! You are such a great artist and teacher! ❤
Thank you so much!! I hope it turns out great!! 💞🤗🧶
I am the same, thought these be hard to make. Thankyou Nadeige for sharing. I am just learning. from Tasmania Australia❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍

This looks perfect. No weird starting stopping sides at the top. I can't wait to make this!!
Yay!! So excited for you to make a market bag! 🧶🤗💞
@@crochetdaybyday what happens if you use regular acrylic yarn for this pattern?
@@christinaandi915 You can definitely use regular acrylic yarn. I find that cotton yarn is just a bit more sturdy and bounces back to it's original shape where the acrylic stretches a lot more. Of course after washing the bag it'll go back to its shape, but that's really the only difference. I prefer cotton, but acrylic works too.
this was such a great tutorial, explaining every step very clearly and was so easy to follow. I didn't have much yarn with me on holidays so thanks to the instructions I was able to make a cute little one that fits 6 tangerines! Thank you!
I am so happy to hear you enjoyed this tutorial!! I can just picture the cute bag now! 💞🧶🤗
Hey Nadeige! Please, please, please do more tutorials! You are such an amazing teacher. I have to be honest, I was very nervous about this tutorial coming out, but YOU knocked it out of the box. You did a nice job on the tutorial for this market bag. Appreciate the time you took to film this. I like that you showed how to make the magic knot.I am going to try this next time when I have to tie on a new ball of yarn. Thanks so much and hope you do more tutorials.
I am so glad you enjoyed this! Thank you so much!!! My life changed when I figured out the magic knot haha. I hope to do more tutorials in the future! 💞🤗🧶

Thank you!! I’m glad you love it! I hope you make one! 💞🤗🧶
This was an excellent tutorial! If you make more of them, and I hope you do, may I suggest adding chapters to them? That why people can just jump to the section they need help with.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback on this because I know for me I find the chapters super helpful too! I may be able to go back and do that on this one, and will for sure do that in the future too!! Thank you!! ❤️ 🧶 🤗
@@crochetdaybyday You’re very welcome! I’m about to buy this pattern. That would be cool if you can add them after the fact! I’ve seen other bags like this, but I’m a beginner and this is the first one I’m sure I can follow! So thank you!
I haven't made this yet, but I watched through and then watched again to jot down the pattern before I start (can you tell I'm a type-A planner?? 😅) but I'm so excited I found this pattern and I can't wait to start after the baby is down for bed tonight! I wanted to say you're so good at explaining everything, sometimes a tutorial just says "do X, Y, Z..." And doesn't actually explain what that means and I have to go to another tutorial on it to find out, so I really appreciate how good you are at teaching! I am eager to check out other videos from you. Thank you!!
Thank you so much, Michelle!! Your comment made me feel really good! I hope you enjoy the bag and I am so glad this is a helpful tutorial for you! They work up pretty quick! I hope you enjoy it and have fun with it too! 💞🧶🤗

Hi! New sub 😻I was sent over by Adrian at Kiwi’s Crochet Corner in her shout out video. This is perfect timing, I am looking to make this EXACT bag. Thanks for the tutorial! ✌️💖🧶

Thanks. Using it to shop at the Christmas Markets in Europe.
I love these bags for everything! They stretch so much! My cousin uses them for swimming lessons for her daughter, and the stretch for the towels and everything else works so great for the finished size. Finished bags are available on my Etsy and on sale until the 30th! If you’re international I can waive the shipping fee, just send me a message if you purchase one! 🤗🧶💞
Very good. It was a good tutorial 😊
Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 💞🧶🤗
@crochetdaybyday I have been making market bags and wanted other ideas from the one that I have. Thank you.
I have a couple of questions. For one how much yarn does it take in total to make a market bag that has 40 rows? Do you need more than one skein of yarn?
Good question! I realized I never said how much is needed to make this bag, but you’ll need approximately 300+ yards of yarn to make this bag, give or take depending on your tension. I hope that’s helpful! 💞🧶🤗
Thank you so much ❤
You’re very welcome! Thank you for watching! 🤗💞🧶
Love your video, and am finishing up my first bag. Losing the music would add to video 😊.
I’m so glad you love it! I hope your bag turned out amazing!! 💞🤗🧶
21:42 my issue is that the width don’t match. One end is tighter than the other end
Thank you for your clear instructions. I’m a knitter who crocheted a long time ago. I’m at the beginning of the project and my edges are not straight. Also there are fewer stitches than I started out with (25+1). Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong? 🙏
I’m so glad you enjoyed this tutorial! Apologies for the delayed response! It can be pretty easy to add and remove stitches with crochet, so it sounds like maybe a stitch was skipped? I don’t like counting, but if something feels off I go back and try to find the row I may have dropped or added a stitch. Hopefully this was only in the first five rows so you won’t have to go back too far. Let me know if that was helpful or not! I know troubleshooting can be challenging sometimes 💞🤗🧶

Why did you say that it doesn't matter if the first set of chains made for the handle is twisted, especially when you're going through a chain? I thought you would have gone over the entire chain rather than through a loop. So I guess it ides matter that it's not twisted.
Hi there! Good question! I guess the answer is in your question now that I'm reading it over again. I know sometimes when chaining it can twist, and some people can get caught up in that instead of just trusting the process. And as you noticed, since you got that far in the tutorial, it doesn't really matter. I guess I should have addressed it more, but I wasn't thinking about it at the time. Thanks for the call out! I hope you made a bag and it's turn out great for you!
🧶💞🤗
Ok I’ve made three of these now 😂 it stays the same number of loops in the mesh the entire time right?? My bags continually do not look like these even though I’ve followed the same pattern all 3 times. What on earth am I doing wrong!
Oh nooooo! You’re absolutely right, the same number of loops in the mesh each time. Are you using different brands of yarn for each of them? Sometimes that’ll make it look a little different, so maybe that? Hard to tell without looking at it, but they can vary a little depending on the yarn used, that’s for sure! I’m sure they all look amazing though!! 🤗💞🧶
Grrat looking bag!!! Id love to give it a try! How long does it take you to make this bag? Thank you. And you're name is lovely!!!
Thank you so much!! I’m glad you like it! For me it took about 3-4 hours, maybe faster or slower depending on your speed, but it can be done in a weekend! 💞🤗🧶
Thank you. I love this pattern but I need help on one thing. One of the straps twisted. Can that be fixed?
It sounds like to fix that you may need to frog it and make sure you’re going into the right stitches? I do prefer the back bump of the chain with the straps, but it shouldn’t really twist if you don’t do it that way. Sounds like something happened in the first row of it twisted. I know it’s a bummer to undo/frog a project, but it might be the best option 🤷🏼♀️💞🤗🧶
Does it look very different if you don't go into the back bumps? It's so fiddly
You certainly do not have to go in the back bumps. I like to because of the way it looks, but certainly not required. I know it can be frustrating with those bumps 💞🧶🤗
21:16 on this row i did 5 rows but it’s much tighter then the other end. I wish I knew what I did wrong.
I am making this bag with Lily Sugar and Cream. I have made my 40 rows but the length of the 40 rows is only 20". Yours looks a lot longer! Should I do more rows? I am in the UK and couldn't get the yarn you used.
Hi Stephanie!! This pattern is a trust the process kind of pattern. Make sure it’s 40 rows of the mesh, not including the rows or single crochet only. The bag is going to stretch and take shape once you make the other end of the bag and the handles. Lily Sugar and Cream is a thicker 4 weight yarn and can feel a little stiff, but it will give you the length and size when you’re finished! Let me know how it goes! 💞🤗🧶
HI, I'm all good on the pattern - BUT, my handles are twisted - badly, if I force them straight on one side and sc into it straightened up it looks terrible = what am I doing wrong ? thanks so much.
Oh no!! I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing that! Sorry for the delayed response. I'm not 100% sure what could be happening, but I'd recommend undoing the handle to where it starts to twist and make sure you are placing your sc into the right stitch? As in, you may need to go slowly with the first round, make sure the sc are in the spaces of the mesh, then the top of the handle and into the chain for the actual handle. I like to go into the back bumps, which will help with the twisting. I hope that's helpful! Please let me know! 🤗 ❤️ 🧶

Hello! How can I help?
ok, this might be a weird question..how do you spell your name and is there a story behind it? I've never heard that name before, and i think its beautiful!
Hello!! My name is spelled Nadeige. I used to put it on the screen in my videos at the very beginning so maybe I should do that again. It’s a French name. My mom is from France and she heard it one day in school and said she wanted to name her daughter that is she ever had one, and here we are!! 😂💞🤗🧶
@@crochetdaybyday awee ❤thats lovely!!
Can i sell my finished product after i buy pattern from your ravelry?
I don’t see why not! Go for it! Thanks for asking though! 💞🤗🧶
Im curious. Why does it need to be a cotton yarn, please?
Good question! Cotton yarn tends to be a bit more sturdy, but you could use an acrylic yarn if you’d like, or any other yarn. Just keep in mind the stretch of the yarn. Cotton will stretch, but not as much as other yarns so it can keep the shape of the bag and go back to its original shape, or close to. Other yarns can stretch and not stretch back and can lose the integrity of the bag. I find cotton yarn to be better for this type of project. I hope this is helpful! 🤗💞🧶
Thank you so much for answering! I appreciate it.
@@shelleyknowles7348 You're welcome! I hope that was helpful!
How many rows of the mesh did you do ?
Hello there! Apologies for the delay! I think I did 41 rows? It’s been a while since I made one and cannot remember what the tutorial said. But! You can make as many rows as you’d like, but the more rows you make the more it stretches and maybe not on the best way! Let me know if you have any more questions! 💞🤗🧶
What is the finished size?
Hi there! The finished size is 18.5” width, 13.5” length, minus the handle. With the handle, 21.5” length. This bad stretches far beyond the finished product. I’d say double, depending on what you choose to put in the bag 🤗🧶💞
I'm india I'm making from India
Amazing!! I hope your bag turns outs amazing! 💞🤗🧶
22:38 each foundation do not match 😢😮
Oh no!!! Apologies for the delayed response! Im so sorry to hear this didn’t work the way as expected! It definitely sounds like one of two things, tension and possibly the number of stitches. Did you double check the stitch count? If you have, maybe go up half a hook size, so 5.5 or maybe a 6 just for the last rows after the mesh is completed. It’s easy for me to get stuck on a tight tension when doing the mesh and remembering to loosen it up to complete the last five single crochet rows. Did you frog the rows before making the handle? Give the bigger book a try and see if that works and make sure you have the right number of stitches. I do this all the time and end up having to go back and undo my work. Definitely part of the process so don’t stress! It’s going to turn out perfect with a little tweaking. Please let me know if you have any other questions! Good luck! You got this! 🤗💞🧶
