Hi Queen. Been really enjoying your videos. I am finally arriving in KL on July 31, 2024!! Booked The Tropicana Residences under your link for a week. I think it will serve me well for the first week: centrally located, can rest up after that long flight and it will allow me to get the lay of the land. Thank you so much for your calm, professional and informative videos....especially for those of us "of a certain age". This is my bucket list trip and I hope to spend my 77th birthday on Sept 1st on some fabulous beach in Penang or Langkawa or both!!!! Then maybe on to Vietnam and/or Thailand. Again, thank you.
Greetings Trace 🥰! Thank you very much for your kind support using my link and the lovely compliment! I'm thrilled to hear that you've been enjoying my videos and that you've booked The Tropicana Residences for your stay in KL. It served me well and hopefully it's perfect for you as you explore the city! Enjoy their gorgeous rooftop view 🤩. I'm especially touched that my videos have been helpful to you. Your bucket list trip sounds incredible, and I hope you have an amazing time celebrating your 77th birthday on the beautiful beaches of Penang or Langkawi, or both! Vietnam and Thailand are also fantastic destinations to look forward to. Safe travels and enjoy every moment of your journey ❤️🎊!
@@QueenofDC Oh yes, Queen. I most certainly will be following your videos for tips as I travel through SE Asia. I am also purchasing a few items on your links, i.e., door stops, bra stash and maybe Safety Wing. Do you have a suggestion yet for Mosquito Repellent? The wipes would be nice. ,The backpack was out of stock. I've decided to travel extra extra light....minimilanlist packing....and pickup anything I may need on the way.
Thank you so much and packing minimalist is the BEST!! Less stress and fees and more ease. I use an awesome natural mosquito repellent spray by Tiger Balm. I got it in Malaysia though. My friend has been looking all over for it in Thailand but can't find it. I've found that natural sprays work best. From the USA I started out with off but found much better ones abroad. Don't forget your universal travel adapter and portable charger! Safe travels 🎊 ✈️
@@QueenofDC Hi Queen. A couple of things. First I received your very nice note about my "buy me a coffee" donation. But, it apparently came with no name. Not sure why that happened but I it's from me....Trace. The least I can do. 2nd I will pickup the Tiger Balm mosquito repellent in KL then.. Good tip. 3rd I am hoping you can give me a tip for a nice budget to midrange place I can stay for a month or two. I see YTers showing really nice accommodations for $25 per day.. An apartment would be nice too. I am at The Tropicana Residences for about 10 days when I first get there.........then what! Thanks so much for everything. Sure would be nice to "run into" each other one day.
@@trace3254 Thank you, Trace! I appreciate it. Some folks might be "exaggerating" about those lovely $25 residences if they are in the city center, or they're showing old videos, or they've worked out special deals. Moving farther out, you can find better deals. Yes, you can find apartments for those prices and less, but they rarely meet my level of comfort or expectations. KL prices have increased since I first moved there. Those prices were legit at one time for me, but now $35-40 is the range for decent places, and it's higher for more upscale accommodations. Hi Kwame! Thanks for tuning in and you're welcome! I'm glad to hear my videos are helpful as you research your options. I'm sharing my experiences to provide you with choices.
Unlike in some European countries where the natives lament about scarcity of homes within the city due to over tourism, in Malaysia it’s quite the opposite. Many Malaysians own homes within the city centre but choose to live outside the centre of the city simply because they like living in a semi rural areas more. I myself rent out my apartments in KL and opt to live in my hometown Bentong wc is located 20km away from KL. At least 8 more people in my village are doing the same too.😊
You're so right! You have the best of both worlds!! Renting and living where you prefer 🎊. I need to check out rural Malaysia as I make my tour around the country. Thank you for sharing 😊!
Thank you!! I enjoyed it and it was homey with all I needed. 🥰As you know, the heat is brutal during the day so I spend my days inside and have to be cozy.
Thanks for your support and sharing 🥰! I'm sharing my experiences to provide options as you research because I'm looking for the same as I read reviews/research. Our experiences may differ based on several factors but I share as I know it through my experience. Videos are always more helpful than photos for me.
Thank you!! That's not true based on my experience staying at The Tropicana. The pool and gym were nice and met my comfort level. If there had been issues with cleanliness or air conditioning during my stay, I would have mentioned it because those are high on my list of priorities.
These are privately owned condos, not serviced apartments, so each unit comes with different terms. My place didn’t include daily cleaning, but I had a washer/dryer, so I could handle my own laundry. However, if you prefer cleaning services and fresh towels, that’s something you can negotiate with the owner.
Hi! The rate varies by season and owner. Prices can start from $45 + per night. Check Agoda and Airbnb to compare prices. You can use my Agoda link (Affiliate) for the best rates agoda.tp.st/iC1PKc84. Thanks for watching!
It's a journey and depends on your route. I returned leaving Bucharest to Bangkok to Malaysia and it was the shortest route at the time. Four hour layover in Doha which was cool. Thanks for watching!!
Of course, since in the 80's when the middle eastern hubs like Dubai n Qatar were still none existed k.l/subang airport in Msia n Changi in Singapore were the 2 top stopovers/transits for people around Asia Pacific to travel to europe n North America n vice versa.😊

great building!!! thanks for
Thanks for tuning in and it's a cozy spot!! I've lived all over the city 🤣😂to figure out my preference.
Hi welcome to Malaysia! I’ve heard the gym on top do not have ac and the pool is dirty is that true?

Is this the same as Tropicana Residence Gucci Suite? Are the different Tropicana Hotels...
Never heard of the Gucci Suite. It's the condo residences building not a hotel.
SUBBED my sista!
Thank you so much for your support!! 🥰 Welcome!! Happy for you to join me on this journey 🎊.
How to check in?
Each owner/management has their respective check in process. The owner of my spot delivered the keys and parking pass to me.
Is this with daily cleaning in the Appartment? Thanks
