    Yeah, that sums it up.

    You should definitely read the manga and LN it is pretty good.

      Yes, after a bit of extra research I discovered that Priestess is actually Steel rank now, so I probably should have made her lvl 5 or 6, lol.

  • @kyuubigan
    @kyuubigan 5 лет назад +12

    Hmm... I would argue that Priestess actually took the Protection Domain, primarily because the abilities she has in the LN more closely line up with what that domain offers. Other than that its a solid representation.

    • @tabletopnephilim4633
      @tabletopnephilim4633  4 года назад +1

      I considered Protection, but one of the core things that domain has requires a shield, so I went with Life instead.

      she has a shield of faith

      @@tabletopnephilim4633 the domain doesnt require a shield.
      Life doesnt fit too well since Priestess seems to only be able to do minor healing, so giving her the ultimate healing class is not very fitting.
      Her other abilities revolve around buff, protection, and debuff.
      She can blind with light (light domain cleric or blindness spell)
      She can protect (various cleric protection spells as well as protection domain)
      And she can silence (Silence spell or trickery domain cleric)
      I'd go with light domain or protection.

      @@fullmetalpotato1258 Well one thing people have been pointing out that I somehow COMPLETELY overlooked is that she worships the Mother Goddess of Earth. So by definition, even if the abilities don't match, she would be a Nature cleric. If I were to remake her, I would probably go with that.

    • @fullmetalpotato1258

      @@tabletopnephilim4633 It could be that the Earth Mother is a protective god, which is why its flavored into protection domain rather than nature domain.

    I would think she's Neutral Good since she wants to help everyone, but I could be wrong

      I would say Neutral Good as well, since she follows the law but doesn't seem to go around enforcing it.

    I dunno... Her Dex must be pretty good cause in what will probably be Season 2 (assuming it actually happens) she clocks a couple goblins right between the eyes with a sling. And Charisma is used for persuasion, and if being an adorable cinnamon roll doesn't help you persuade people I don't know what else it's good for so I'd definitely make her Charisma higher. Possibly just below her wisdom.

    She has also a sling as a weapon and is quite deadly with this.
    She can only use 3 miracles at a time, but they can an additional 4th spell on cost of there life. After that thier weakend. Her spells i currently know are,
    - Heal, a minor healing spell
    - Holy Light, to make a light
    - Protection, cast a wall
    - Silence, to shut down any kind of noise
    - Purify, cleanse every type of impurity (like filth, blood)

    Small, funny detail I noticed....
    When covering her spells, after her Domain spells, you said she has 8 more spells. However, she only has 7 remaining spell slots (4 first level, 3 second level)....

    • @tabletopnephilim4633
      @tabletopnephilim4633  3 года назад +1

      That happens sometimes. With Clerics and Druids, you prepare a number of spells equal to your level plus your spell modifier.

    • @khajiitimanus7432
      @khajiitimanus7432 3 года назад

      @@tabletopnephilim4633 I honestly don't know what to say to that. So, she just straight up pulls a spell slot out from her rear?

    • @tabletopnephilim4633
      @tabletopnephilim4633  3 года назад

      @@khajiitimanus7432 Oh no, spell slots and spells prepared are two different things. It's not like you only cast each spell once. Each slot is one instance of spellcasting. The spell you cast can be any one of the spells you have prepared. You could use all of your slots casting the same spell over and over again if you needed to. Think of spell slots as mana points.
      That said, she DOES perform an extra casting after running out of slots when they fight the ogre. This is apparently explained as drawing directly from her life force, but there isn't anything for doing that in actual DnD. Not 5e, anyway.

      @khajiitimanus7432 3 года назад

      @@tabletopnephilim4633 Sorry, I suppose I didn't phrase what I meant very well.
      I was referring more to the extra spell cast - I already know that spell slots just refers to how many total spells can be casted.

      @@tabletopnephilim4633 I suppose being a Dark Souls fanatic can create some confusion, particularly with Dark Souls 1.
      DS1's magic is massively different from DnD magic. For DS1, spells are attuned into an Attunement Slot, and then each spell has a specific amount of casts before one is required to rest at a bonfire (resting at a bonfire replenishes spell casts for every attuned spell) - as a result, you can't use an Attunement slot (Attunement Slot is basically a Spell Slot) as a point-exchange to just replenish the spell casts of something, unlike DnD. It sounds a tad bit more complicated than it is.... I'll give an example: the Pyromancy spell "Fireball" takes up 1 Attunement Slot, and can be casted 8 times, but you can't just use up a free Attunement Slot to cast another 8 Fireballs - you'd need another Fireball scroll to attune. Because of the way Dark Souls magic works, I habitually just thought "spell _slot,"_ even if that isn't quite correct. **shrug**
      The woes of game differences. It's like playing a game where attack is X, and then playing another where attack is R1.

    For the adventure ranks in Goblin Slayer. It's not so much about their power, but how much they contribute & their PR. Kill a dragon who has never harmed anyone, you wont go up in rank. Are you a shitty person? You wont go up in rank. Like Goblin Slayer is Silver Rank but he is far weaker then practically every other Silver Ranked adventurer and even had trouble against that halfling dude who lost a rank later on.

    • @tabletopnephilim4633

      That's something that confused me....
      About the halfling, I mean. They refused his promotion and even demoted him, but then went on to say that 'adventurers can vary in alignment from Chaotic Evil to Lawful Good.'

      @@khajiitimanus7432 This is part of why I mostly ignore comments about how my Goblin Slayer builds are too strong. Kumo Kagyu only cares about 3 things; goblins, clever ways to kill them, and boobs. Consistency is an afterthought. Like how Goblin Champions are compared to gold rank adventurers, and yet silver rankers can one-shot them.

    • @khajiitimanus7432

      The anime added to the farm fight at the end the Goblin Champions vs Silver Ranks fight was added in. The farm fight was basically like 5 or 6 pages long, focusing on the strategy used. There definitely is some correlation between Rank and Power tho if you can kill a dragon you may not rise in rank but if that dragon was causing trouble for ppl then that would be a major boost in rank. Silver Rank probably has the widest power range out of all the ranks, with Goblin Slayer being at the lower end.
      As for Priestess's LV, we can always compare her to her Priest/Priestess peers with the girl who only knows 1 miracle and can cast 1 per day as the base, then there's Sword Maiden who can use "resurrection" that can bring someoneback from the brink of death (doesn't litterally revive them) to serve as Priestess's "roof". Iirc by the end of the anime Priestess knows 3 miracles and cast 3 per day. This doesn't stop her from taking levels in other things, but it should be a decent indicator for her Level.
