- A few rocky sections of a green lane in Yorkshire. In the last clip, I intentionally took a route to get some articulation, although I didn't expect to lift the wheels. Also, I was expecting alot more trouble getting the Panda up the steep grassy hill, which is why I gave it seemingly too much momentum and power - sorry those of you who resent off roaders for 'damaging' the earth (the grass was put back, don't worry). Once again, sorry for the wind noise, although at least, this time, the camera is steady thanks to a tripod (courtesy of Smokinghat12).
The bull bar is off for the moment, due to a pending respray. Also, yes, the headlights are unevenly bright. 'Tis due to an ongoing earth problem with the headlight bulbs (we think) themselves.
Once again, your driving control has astounded me. The way you persevered, even faced with those treacherous boulders, leaving them to remain in the aura of danger that you so masterfully avoided. I could tell, also, that those sheep in the background were impressed... the way they huddled together to view your prowess... it speaks for itself, for your mastery. For this canvas of danger, on to which you have painted your skills, is sublime. And may it remain long-lasting for generations to come.
I am astonished with this car's offroad abilities! And good driving as well - well done, great movie!
Thanks. Good luck with your respray.
I still have the badges, just not the stickers on the rear wings. I saw the picture of your Seat on your page - nice, looks good in black. And don't worry, true car people will know what it is without the decals.
Why... the prowess rose my emotions to such a fever pitch... Surely such ability is not human? Surely you challenge the gods themselves with such natural ability... surely...
Yep. It's to get rid of the marks that the 4x4 stickers left when we took them off, and also to paint over the rust that we've recently filled in. Will go well with the 'back-to-black' that we put on the bumpers (notice they look better? :P).
Thanks for your comment.
Does it have locking diffs? Or is it just like regular open diffs with a 70/30 split?
Woah. What's your experience? I had this car for 4 years. It chewed through CV joints and had an intermittent electrical shut-down including ignition, leaving me without anything for inconsistent lengths of time. Overall the car was fantastic, and I would definitely not hesistate in buying another Fiat, or any other Italian car for that matter. It was more a turn of phrase than any attack on Italian cars as a whole. I had a Mercedes-Benz after this which still had the odd problem, but much fewer
nice work! you got that panda under control!
Respray you say...?
Nope, not yet. I'm still 'learning' to drive at the moment. Thanks to a 7 week waiting list for the practical test, it'll be a few weeks before I'll be driving the Panda properly. I researched the price a while ago, and if I pretend that it's my parents car and add myself on the policy, then it worked out to £750ish (direct line). Good to know that the prices have gone down.
is that a good off road car? i wanna start gettin into off road but i aint made of money, so i want a durable and cheap car.
is this car fiat panda country club 4x4 for me?
I'd say so. It's alot of fun to drive off and on road. It's durable off road, but it is Italian so it can be fairly unreliable. Overall, I'd recommend it.
@Tarijus Why thank you. Yes, it is the FIRE 50. It gives an enjoyable drive.
Yea, we considered T-cutting, in fact we have some, but it was agreed that it would be better just to get a respray.
If its a big area, which it is, It would take countless hours to T-Cut it all.
But whatever, I like your car!
Have you insured it for yourself yet? f so how much, recently I looked to see how much mine was and it was £850, from £1,000 in May :D
I didn't say that Italian cars were unreliable; I was more saying that my Panda lived up to the infamous reputation for unreliability that Italian cars suffer. Proper maintenance does indeed drastically improve reliability.
Yes they look alot better! I hear that WD40 works on the bumpers too! I have to do a respray too. There was spray paint at the back of the car and on the rear quarter panels. I have sanded it down I just need a good day to paint it :D
If i had a 4x4 panda i would leave the sticker on, But its yours so you do what you want. I had to take away the 'Black' and the 'Marbella' decals so i can respray.. :( Now people must wonder what car it is, but i would like another to put back on whence it's done
@Sierrabez Lol we were careful :). Hope it's still going well.
I'm not sure to be honest, but I'm sure that you can. Finding mechanical parts for it hasn't been too difficult.
indeedy!! Yet my parents made me only driver to get no claims to stack up. In November it should be 1 year no claims :D
It was part-time, so front wheel drive and selectable 4wd without a centre diff. Open front and rear diffs.
Bellissimo
@ANM4x4 :) its just that i notice you werent in your vid :)
thx for replying, i really am thinking on trading my yamaha dt 50 for a panda
Made by styer Daimler puch in Austria for fiat. They also make g class, m class, grand jeep Cherokee E fourmatic , crysler voyager!
good vid, il give you an ''off roading'' tip for free, keep your thumbs out of the steering wheel.
@jasa2345678910 A good observation. I'll have to watch myself more when off roading :P. I think (hope) that I've improved. haha
@jasa2345678910 Good advice - jarring and sudden bumps can be painful/damaging. I read the same in an issue of LRO a while ago, so that's something I try to do.
he drive to slow :(
Poor kid, buy a jeep!
