I'm from China. The movie came out in Chinese Spring Festival(on January. 22nd, 2023) and I have already watched. It has stunning ink painting effects and the soulful music. For the plot, it is very new and unique. It is dedicated to those who walk through the long night, like Tian Xiaopeng(The director of Deep Sea). It may be able to come out in a few months in other countries. It's really worth to watch. And I also want to see more evaluations of the movie which are from the people in other countries.

One of the best animated movies I've ever seen, it truly made my day 💞 We usually attribute all glory to Japanese animation, but this masterpiece has surprised me. At first the movie didn't catch my attention, I found it too confusing because of all the elements and subplots it contained, but as time went by it captivated me not only for its colorful beauty, but for its deep meaning and the valuable message it shows: how the loss of a loved one can affect the fragile heart of a child to limits that an adult could never imagine and how, despite everything, life always gives you a reason to smile, even if it is brief. Not to mention one of its main characters who, although he may be hateful at first, you soon discover that your perceptions were totally wrong and you love him dearly. This movie shows us that life is beautiful and full of precious moments, let's not waste it and enjoy every second. My score is 10/10, highly recommended and enjoyable 😍

From the beginning you are captivated by its particular style of animation and the atmosphere of mystery that surrounds it, and although it is true that the plot can be somewhat disconcerting, with time you will understand everything. It's beautiful, entertaining and emotional and be prepared because you will cry at the end 🥲💕

I'm a Chinese and I've just watched the film twice and I'm going to watch it for the third time tomorrow. As it is written in the end of the film, the film is for those who have walked across the long long night. I've got bipolar disorder for many years and I guess this is why I were deeply touched by the film each time I watched it, much deeper than others. During the second time when I watched the film, I looked around and found many audience were weeping as I did. If you are sentimental, you really need a pack of tissues during the watch. If you love The Starry Night of Vincent van Gogh, you certainly will love this film. If you understand The Starry Night, you sure will understand the story.

  • @mr.steamedbread

My wife and I went to the movies twice. The first time, we were moved to tears by the unstoppable particle water-ink visual spectacle and the excellent soundtrack that complemented the development of the plot. However, the narrative rhythm at the beginning of the story is very special and the viewing experience is different from previous animation movies. The early plot advancement reminds one of the feeling of watching "Mulholland Dr. (2001)," but thankfully the director finally revealed the truth in a straightforward manner. However, not everyone truly understood the story.
It is not a simple hero story that celebrates a stranger sacrificing his life to save the protagonist. The deeper understanding lies at the emotional level and shows how the protagonist gains the courage to face her own heart's knots with the help of "南河(Nan He, Procyon)" and her awareness of self-salvation. The ending of the movie is not a traditional Happy Ending. The director used 2D images to depict a beautiful possibility, but whether the protagonist finally resolved the newly generated knot left by "南河" and whether she still sealed herself in a hard shell are open for the audience to think about.
In fact, the director buried a lot of details that are easier to notice and understand in the second viewing, such as the "一见生财,Get fortune when you see it" text seen when first entering the deep-sea Grand Hotel, which actually comes from the image of the "黑白无常Black and White death-inviting ghost" in Chinese folk tales, suggesting that this story may be a dream of a person in a near-death state. That's why the deep sea is so colorful and gorgeous, while the reality is gray. Even the music "小白船Little White Boat" played in the movie is a symbol of death. There are also many details corresponding to reality and many shots that interweave dreams and reality, making it easy to get confused by these trivialities on the first viewing.
When we truly understand the story, re-watching the movie, we find that there are many changes in the tear-jerking emotional points, and we will be emotionally impacted by more early details, making our tears flow. In any case, this is a great movie and a unique experience that must be seen in the cinema.

    • @mr.steamedbread
      @mr.steamedbread Год назад +5

@@halfgod It seems that in the end, her mother never truly appeared. In fact, the search for her mother wasn't the main theme of the film. Instead, it aimed to depict the enclosed inner world constructed by an abandoned child and explore the process of seeking redemption. The movie provides some possibilities through a series of intricate psychological developments as the protagonist contemplates suicide by jumping into the sea but is then rescued. The film also directly portrays a figure looking back in a snowy scene, transitioning from the image of her mother to that of Nanhe. However, with Nanhe's death, it felt as if she was abandoned once again, which became her new obsession. Fortunately, with the aid of her self-redemptive realization, she saves herself through the words spoken by 'Nanhe' in her dreams, offering her the chance to embark on a new life.

I am currently crying so hard right now. This is seriously the most beautiful, well put together story ever. I can’t believe how magical this movie was. The marvelous animation truly made me shed a tear. And especially the ending, that part was just so truly heart touching, words cannot describe the series of emotions I felt. I absolutely loved the climax it had insanely excellent detail. Oh, and we can’t forget the conclusion. The conclusion was the greatest and saddest conclusion I have ever seen. Thank you so much Tian Xiao Peng for creating this absolute masterpiece. This is essentially the most important masterpiece of film history. It is a tragedy that this film is so underrated...this transcendent emotional experience will be inaccessible for most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, happiness, loss, and despair. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It stays vibrant, fresh, and revolutionizes the art of storytelling and filmmaking while making a damn of statement on what it means to be human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. This might be the most impactful piece of art I’ve come across in my life, and I’m definitely coming back to it in the near future to study it more deeply. It's an absolute masterpiece of a film. It absolutely moved my soul, and I don't think I can ever be the same. This incredible movie has changed my entire mental state, I am now at peace with who I am and what I will be doing later in my life. I have let go of the past and now I cherish all the little things in life. The animation, music and everything can be heard, tasted, seen, and felt from the screen. You can really tell that the people who worked on this film really poured their heart and soul into producing this. I definitely recommend watching this true piece of modern art.

    Really loved this movie!
    SPOILER
But after all we all know all the stories and where they converge even in this, the only good "isekai" there is!
    SPOILERY SPOILERS!
This animation may seem overdone but that exactly it's point!
If you see the end credits you realize what is the real message!
Let the fiction Be fiction,we don't need reality in shoved in like in the fake way of isekai, nor in this the only good one of this genre!
Let a adventure be a adventure, let the magical bejngs be magical, let fiction drama be the one of fiction, let the fantasy be fantasy, sure you can put Hints of reality to help young ones understand when the moment will come, but still letting the imagination world be such, let everything conserve it's true nature!

Sayang sekali film semahal ini gak di garap pake bahasa inggris
Karena tidak semua suka bahasa Mandarin.
Imagine if this movie by Disney..
    Will be viral...

Donghua is better than anime. This is why China excels in all aspects over Japan, for example animation 😁😁😁

China just does more stuff even when your in the meat grinder of shows that just exist to fund the people working on it they still have a lot of quirks beyond animes where its fantasy town with a guild an some hot girls XD

Bro have you seen 'Children Of The Sea' and all the CG games cinematic that made by Japan? Japan can make a whole world of amazement if they have big budget. China still has a long way to go if they want to surpass Japan in terms of animation and story, also with how big the plagiarism problem they have (like their most popular game Genshin Impact still has the same anime style that Japan invented).

@@vinhminer5113 what the hell are you on about claiming China has not made good looking or engaging characters and that while genshin things retarded are all videos games just ripping off one country for having am animation style
