Lmao I know right. Was thinking that most of the game on my first run. Like "seriously Sébastien, you went through Hell before and these things scare you"
I'm a huge fan of Resident Evil. I played RE 4,5,6/ RE (O.R.C)/ RE (Revelations 1, 2) & I've never played Evil Within series but I've to admit that this game have more horror, psychological tricks & thrilling senses. Even bosses are not just over-sized mutated Arnolds. They are absolute terrifying & attractive at the same time. I love Revelations series tho.
Gameplay is ehh not bad But story is good overall. I'd say this game got 8.5/10. The sound effects for guns had no impact at all and handguns sounds the same (excluding revolver). the reloading was too quiet for some guns. Graphics are amazing and i like the crafting system. The best part of this game is when you fight the previous monsters, sadist, keeper, laura.
Nah, first game was much better. Atmosphere was a lot better. Gameplay was better. And first game was a real old school survival horror and a good one. Second game hasn't got "horror" after all. You're passing same type of locations, you're fighting same enemies (and bosses) and... It isn't scary or thrilling after all. First game was 15 hours and none of this hours were unnecessary. But 2 game is hardly a 14 hours with that all these stupid side missions, why, why there is side missions on this game. 2. game hasn't got the mystery of first game's story either. Mystery of story in first game made game much more thrilling and it was great for atmosphere. Second game hasn't got this but the problem is story isn't good either. The Evil Within 2 is just an unnecessary sequel. Of course not a bad game but definitely worse than first game.

The battle with Myra seems so Dead Space influenced. The glowing yellow weak spots you have to shoot, her limbs exploding, baby monsters crawling out, and facing a giant, stationary monster like the Hive Mind or Nexus.
I am so proud that they actually improved on the final boss, and did not make it a over-the-top set piece! Imagine how OP she might be if she had legs....
