Watching this video again, Bad Time Zone by itself is actually a legit Kaizo mod. It's hard but there aren't really any unfair situations. It seems to be designed in the spirit of Mario kaizo accurately. Edit: Bad Time Zone 2 is the most 100% Kaizo. It's actually fair. BTZ 1 and 3 have some unfair elements, but no where as bad as the rest of the game.

Since like you said, stuff like invisible platforms, pixel-perfect jumps, and having to actually know about and abuse glitches to even complete a level (for example Marble Zone/Bio Hell) makes this mod objectively unfair. And not a "proper" kaizo mod. Proper Kaizo mods test legitimate skill and knowledge, then pushes that to the most extreme limit, but fairly. This mod is made in kaizo fashion but is no way fair at all. It is designed to do nothing but troll you. It's just a kaizo with a massive troll twist. But that's also what makes it so interesting. It's so ugly and bizarre that it's beautiful in it's own way. There was a lot of work put into every single screen that is designed to do nothing but torment/pressure you. Watching people go through the possible paths that are setup shows you that it was made like that for a reason. And though difficult to gauge, it does test player skill, just, you know...off and on sort of thing. There's other reasons why this mod is unique and interesting, or at least i think so. To each their own.

Hard ROM hack but hearing green hill from Sonic Scorch Quest is good plus both Death By Glamor and Megalovania made this game come a fan favorite aside from.the crazy kaizo traps. Even the Invincibility from Sonic Mania was the best
