Sam of course you should upload this game. Winning and losing is not what a good game makes. I get it if you have a bad game where you lose because you played bad. But this game was so close and exciting. I loved how you had to truly strategize and shake up your build to try to compensate the other player. This is honestly one of my fave vids for that reason. Great vid, keep it up!

ofc u should upload vid like this. it was much more fun to watch that, than some mem 'one-hand, no ulti, 1 item' game where u r shredding to pieces some newbie with 5 duel games played. one-sided games are boring af. but still, i see what it was not fun for u, loosing is hardly ever fun but u can lear most of it i guess.
and btw. i dont understad if someone says that hel was cringe. she knew what she was doing, she showed huge game knowledge and patience, she most def had game plan. maybe it was not fun to watch triple def god but she did her job- she won and at the end of the day it matters the most (but yea. killing titan like this was kinda lame, we can agree on that)
Well played Sam. Gotta say I lose respect for someone who has been winning the whole game but refuses to fight it out when it comes down to the end and instead just runs past you. Especially in a matchup like this. Like, I get it if he'd been losing fights and it was his only WinCon... but it wasn't/he wasn't losing fights (at least not consistently toward the late game). Pretty lame play imo, but what can ya do

Umm what? Sam does that strat all the time. These comments are honestly bizarre, it's like people only prefer to see Sam stomp first time duelers/noobs and rage when Sam gets defeated. I think this match was played well from both parties (although not getting Pesti is questionable) and was very enjoyable overall.

I think you have to have poly and I personally like to start bancrofts into typhons. The lifesteal on the 3 gives you crazy sustain.
I think he optimized for the late game just fine, sustain wouldn't have been as good as just bursting the hel down, no matter how much lifesteal you have hel will still out sustain you especially with triple defense playing like a baby.

The moment he sold Poly he couldn't kill 1/5 hp phoenix next fight, so no fire wave and no more pressure.
I don't think Divine was the right call especially if he intended to one combo kill him anyway
@@DmytroBogdanI'd say divine was necessary due to Hel's crazy healing, but I'd have sold Chronos sooner. The consistent burst of dmg from poly were a must have there.
The only game mode I can stand to play anymore is Assault lol i watch Sam for duel
Pestilence, Genjis, Divine, Myrddin, Obsidian, Perfected Rod would have done well against his build. A 2nd defense item would have hurt his lack of pen a lot and two anti-heals, max pen, and the perfected rod would have made up for a little bit of the loss of cooldown. Red pot and blue buff would have still gave you max cd anyways.
I like this hardcore games more than you playing against new players that clearly are lower MMR.

I get Sam's frustration against triple defense, anyone would be, it sucks but you gotta appreciate the other guy's strategy as well and beat him in his way, sometimes we do fun build and play guardians like you did but then you are poseidon and anubis main and most of your games have been played with purpose "just to win". My whole point is not just for sam but other youtubers as well who talk shit and behave weird about people building defence items, like why not just accept their strategy and come up with better counter plans, does everyone need to play the same aggro way with 1 defense to prove themselves a chad. Being said everything I love your gameplay always but its just that I see this everytime with many gamers so I wanted to say this.
Yeah, I'm tired of these made up rules in this game that people try to enforce. Defense items exist for a reason. Purposely hampering yourself or ostracizing, belittling, or disparaging another person for the sake of these made up rules is insane.
It is generally known to be "scummy" to build more than one defensive item in duel since the ability for counterplay (especially with a fucking guardian) into the person building all that defense is increasingly more difficult and close to unwinnable. Another core problem is that it was a Hel who has a pretty notorious dogshit early but broken late. The problem with this is that Sam most of the time cannot outtrade him and still live/not waste all his relics to do so while the Hel might use both but still have the ability to just rundown his objectives while he cant since he has no sustain and his damage just can't keep up with Hel's sustain and tankiness. He played pretty scummy and it was cringe to watch, but we will admit Sam had some misplays that definitely added to his loss, but it's frustrating and hard to beat such a strong god with such an underpowered class in Duel (plus mages have free power with class buff so it's a little bit more cringe).
More than one defense item is definitely still legal, but it's definitely scummy for good reason 3+ defense items on a character like hel in this situation can be particularly scummy though, more than most others.
Higher defense makes healing even more valuable while also making the damage you take less impactful. If you have significant sustain in your kit defense is even more valuable than it would be in theirs, so the answer to a hel with defense isn't just simply "you need to build defense too".
If hel builds *that* much defense, cabrakan can't realistically burst her down with damage nor can be safely win trades. He simply has no option.
Good on the player for recognizing this and winning by using their advantages, but also it was still scummy how *heavily* they committed to the no-effective-counter advantage.

You don’t say it’s “scummy” when Sam doesn’t build defense. Just because most people play building only one defense doesn’t mean that’s how it HAS to be played
@@hbeezy1952 it’s definitely a generally accepted idea in the duel community that building more defense is cringe and seen as “cringe” especially when you’re fighting a guardian. For the sake of argument I want you to tell me how Sam wins in that scenario. Because for all I can tell there isn’t much of a chance unless the Hel horribly misplays which is hard with her sustain and super med making him just that much unlikely to die

@@icyycold1094 sorry I'm a year late lmao but it was more a testament to how good sam is that he maintains such high MMR playing fun gods and fun builds vs these guys. I did take a shot at the hel player for sweating so hard, you are right he played well & correct.

Unfortunately for him he ran into the best NA West player in this video. Sam would have to fight somebody of this Hel's skill in East servers but chose to try and find a noob

That Hel deserves to be MMR capped, very calculated play. He knew Cab weaknesses and used them against you
The main reason I can't stand duel. The game rewards you for basically not playing the game 90% of the time, and punishes you for playing, and you have people who think that running away is 'Calculated'. Against cab, no less. If Sam had a top tier pick, I imagine Hel would no longer be MMR capped after this match
