thank you for this video! I'm just starting to tackle my selvages that I've been setting aside & your videos are so helpful! I especially like the selvage binding too :)
Oh and check out this post for pictures of selvage binding on a quilt: bryanhousequilts.com/2013/09/lucky-selvage-medallion-quilt.html Hopefully that will do for now. Thanks so much!
I was wondering how it will work in a quilt with the mitering and all. It seems that it would be extra thick and wouldn't turn as well. Can we see that part?
I would think it is a bit bulkier, but I can't remember exactly from when I made and bound a selvage quilt a few years ago. I'm planning on a video in the future to show the binding process. But for now, check out the pictures on this blog post for a few visuals. bryanhousequilts.com/2013/09/lucky-selvage-medallion-quilt.html
When you bind a quilt with these selvedge strips don't you still have raw edges on the long sides of your binding? With regular binding I always do a double fold to hide raw edges.
I loved this, good job! I also would like to see it Mitering of a corner on a quilt. FUN

Doesn't the extra bulk from all the seams cause difficulty when attaching to the quilt?
I would like to see what the binding looks like when you join them
Love this
I was hoping to see it on a quilt! Is another video is coming??
Yes! Probably sometime in the first quarter of 2019. These quilts just don't make themselves... haha!

What are you using for the foundation? I've sewn mine together but didn't use any foundation, of course I only made a pouch.
Hi Sue! I'm using muslin. It's cheap and very light weight. :)
How wide do you cut the selvedge when taking it off the piece of fabric?
Do you have white thread in your bobbin? I'm new to quilting and have not used monofilament thread before...
Hmmmm, I think I have either white or grey.
